Don’t be alarmed by the front of the restaurant, inside is very clean, and organized.
The woman who helped me was very friendly.

I had the Schzhaun chicken with fried rice.
I like my food a little bit spicier, this was definitely made for the less adventurous. The chicken is good size and not strips that you see in a lot of Asian restaurants. Celery overload, and I love celery. Maybe cut the pieces smaller.
The portions are HUGE. I have dinner later tonight.
Overall the food is very good.
Lunch menu is plentiful with many options.
If you like your food spicier I suggest you have them add more spice.
Glad I stopped here.

At first impression, I was a little apprehensive about entering the Cantonese House. There was one solo diner, no staff to be seen, reruns of an old 70s show on the TV, with very dim lighting, and the decor was in serious need of a revamp. I stood in the entry, wondering if I should seat myself or stand there and wait. I waited…and waited…eventually a waitress came out from the back, asking what i wanted to order before i had a chance to look at the menu, she gave me a moment while she went to get my drink order. The Coke she brought was in a can. There is nothing better than ice cold Coke…in a can! She took my order, had me pay my bill, then disappeared into the back. She quickly returned with an egg roll with some sort of liquid in a paper cup. I am not a fan of most egg rolls, and this was no exception. The Chicken Wings with Oyster Sauce were next to be brought out, and they looked amazing. They tasted even better! I commented that they were the best I’d ever had, and the waitresses’ demeanor instantly changed. She was friendly and spent more time in the dining area, checking every so often to see if i needed anything. I ordered the Two Patties Egg Foo Yung, Sweet & Sour Chicken with white rice combination. After having those chicken wings, I was a bit disappointed by the entree. I have mixed opinions about the Cantonese House. I’ll forever crave those chicken wings with Oyster sauce, the ambiance leaves something to be desired, the lady who waited on my table was fantastic, she completely changed my first impression of the Cantonese House, and I’d go back again! Ice cold Coke in a can, the best crispy Chicken Wings with Oyster Sauce that I’ve ever had, and a toothpick…yup, I’d go back again.

I have never taken time out of my day to write a review for a restaurant, but this place was actually the worst restaurant I have been to.
1. I get my usual I get at every chinese restaurant, beef lo mein noodles. the noodles were LIKE RAMEN, and the noodles were BURNT. BURNT NOODLES. HOW DO YOU BURN NOODLES.
2. There was 3 tiny very poor quality pieces of beef in my noodles,
3. They made us PAY BEFORE HAND which makes sense because everybody probably sends their food back.
4. there was literally a person nodding off (on drugs) in a booth in the corner, the only other “customer” in the restaurant besides me and my friend.
5. fried rice was garbage.
DO NOT COME HERE. EVERY GOOD REVIEW YOU READ HAS 100% GOT TO BE FAKE, THERE IS NO WAY THEY ARE REAL. THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

Nastiest Chinese food I have ever had in my entire life!! I got chicken lo mein and sweet&sour chicken, the chicken tasted like burnt plastic, along with the sauce which wasn’t red or sweet! Worst customer service ever and refused a refund or a remake, I will never be going there again.

Definitely a family owned business, which was nice to see around here. They seem understaffed, so if you call the takeout number and they don’t answer thats probably why. I got the orange chicken and it was very crispy, could’ve used a bit more sauce but other than that, delicious. Please support them if you can, and be patient.

I used to live in Duluth and this place was my go-to for delicious, fresh tasting Chinese food. I make a point of stopping here when I pass through and it’s always been amazing. They’ve always been super accommodating to my vegetarian diet — I always get the sweet and sour made with tofu, plus some stir fry veggies or vegetarian fried rice. The sweet and sour sauce isn’t the super red stuff most places have — you can taste the orange citrus zing and it’s perfectly sweet. The veggies are fresh and retain a nice crunch. Tofu is . The owner has always been incredibly kind and the prices are VERY reasonable for the quality meal you receive. Sometimes the wait can be a little longer than other places, but it’s because the food is being made fresh to order. Absolutely worth it! If you’re looking for generic Chinese food — this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for something different where you can taste the care they put into the food, I can’t recommend it enough. This place is a Duluth gem.

Oh my goodness the food was absolutely delicious. I had the best egg drop soup in my life here tonight. My family also ordered egg rolls which were amazing as well as fried rice, Sesame chicken, and General tso’s. The chicken was crispy and cooked to perfection. The sauces were divine! The food quality exceeded all expectations. The restaurant was very clean and the whole staff were super nice and gave great service. We will definitely be coming back as this will now be our go-to place.

Ordered 5 dishes. Their King Pao Chicken should be called Kung Pao Celery. There was little to no meat in it or the Chow Mein Chicken and Beef that we ordered. Egg rolls are NOT made in house. Neither is the Orange Chicken. Probably bought at Costco. Very disappointing.

Went in for lunch on a weekday. Food is about what you would expect for Chinese in Duluth – nothing too spectacular. Definitely not bad though, especially for what is obviously a very small business and 2 people running the whole restaurant.
