My friend and I got the cream cheese wontons, Mongolian beef, and General Tso’s chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor was delightful. Usually with deep fried chicken at Chinese restaurants, it’s hit or miss, but I think they did an excellent job. I would recommend this place.

If you’re craving a dose of addicting Chinese food, look no further than Canton West Sieeeeeeede! This little nugget is not just a restaurant; it’s a culinary warehouse rave! It’ll have your taste buds dancing like they just popped a hit o’ pure molly!!

First, let’s talk about the plentiful vegan options: You’ll find an array of dishes that are clearly marked with two V’s –yes, that’s right, VV is for vegan! It’s like a secret code you give the doorman on your way into that underground party. But this party concentrates on delivering plant-based come-ups!

One big recommendation if you are vegan: Order in person. I once called in an order, specified “vegan singapore noodles” with no egg… and guess what? It had gobs of egg in it. So unnecessary of an ingredient. Eeeeeeeeeeew

And for those 1/2-steppers who merely dabble in vegetarianism, fear not! Just a single **V** marks those dishes, making it super easy to navigate the menu without needing a PhD in food hieroglyphics.

Now, onto the flavahs! The olfactory decadence here can not be overstated. From the crispy spring rolls to the savory Kung Pao Tofu, every bite will have you licking your little finger-tutting digits. Order your Kung Pao, with “Extra Pow” and your taste-buds will be burning up like the dance floor during a double-drop Tiësto track!

And let’s not forget the Mapo Tofu — this dish is extra spicy and comes loaded with gobs of Chinese peppercorns that will numb your mouth into a state of sub-lingual disassociation. It’s like ketamine for your taste buds!

The staff are warm… like the center of cuddle-puddle. They’re your culinary POI spinners, ready to dose you with MSG so good you’ll leave the restaurant looking for the Zendo Psychedelic support tent

So, if you’re twrk’n for some top-notch Chinese cuisine, make your way to Canton West Side. With such mouthwatering flavors you may find yourself rolling face.

Oh, and don’t forget your sugary fortune cookie at the end. These little biscuits are like an asian kandi-flip.

Now go get your om nom nom noms on, son! #PLUR

If you ever find yourself in Hazel Dell with a craving for Chinese food that could bring a tear to a panda’s eye, do yourself a favor and stop here. I ordered the string bean chicken, and I’m now considering writing it into my will.

The chicken was so tender it practically apologized for being delicious. The string beans? Snappy, saucy, and clearly went to Harvard. I don’t know what magic they put in that wok, but I’m convinced there’s a wizard in the kitchen working overtime.

The portion was generous — like, “tell your future self to cancel dinner plans” generous. And the flavors? Balanced like a tightrope walker in a kung fu movie. Garlicky, savory, with just enough spice to make you rethink your life choices (in a good way).

Service was fast, staff was friendly, and I left happier than a fortune cookie with a promotion.

10/10 would recommend. Just don’t order the string bean chicken unless you’re ready to fall in love.

We ordered shrimp fried rice, broccoli beef, pot stickers and egg flower soup. Everything was delicious. Service was amazing and price was fair. They allowed me to eat with my dog. I was more than thankful.

The food here was really good! We ordered pork fried rice, cream cheese wontons, sweet and sour prawns and lemon chicken! Everything was delicious!! Our waitress was very kind, friendly and always had a smile. The atmosphere was nice, we liked all the windows with the sun shining in. We would definitely come here again. Recommend this place 10/10!!

Golden City is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Santa Cruz, CA. Food is tasty, price is reasonable, and the people there are friendly. I’ve been eaten there for nearly five years during my stay in UC Santa Cruz. This place is always one option for my after-hour unions.

The Mongolian beef was so dry and chewy that it was practically inedible. 2.5 stars because the combo meal was decent (not great but ok for 18 dollars)

Wow, just wow. I’ve been going to this restaurant for years and it’s always been one of the best Chinese places in Santa Cruz. They recently just changed ownership and the quality took a tremendous nose dive.

The lemon chicken was just awful, what was once a nice light breaded texture is now a deep fried, fishy smelling mess.

The walnut shrimp was also very low quality. Way too much breading and dry as a bone. All of the meat in our order tasted very old and dry.

The worst part by far was the egg rolls. For almost 5 dollars you get 2 Costco frozen isle egg rolls. Very small and pretty disgusting. A far cry from the egg rolls this restaurant used to have.

I wish we saved the $70 and just went to Panda Express. That’s seriously the quality you can expect from this place, worse than Panda.

People who used to go here don’t. It’s not the same and the value you get now is abysmal.

In a word, YUM! I’ve become a regular here since opening. The food is always tasty! It’s clean, spacious, comfortable, the staff is pleasant, and the prices are reasonable. Check it out! Right at the corner of Mission St and Van Ness.
