First, the interior and location close to the water are excellent. The food was okay – we had pork loin and salmon – although we expected a bit more flavour and creativity for the price. The cake was a bit of a disappointment – nice from the outside, but very buttery yet a bit dry inside (perhaps just not what we expected). Overall a pleasant experience though.

Overall a pleasant experience. Lovely modern restaurant atmosphere and a large menu. The Hamburger Summer menu was ok not great. The highlight was the dessert. The staff seemed to be new and untrained but pleasant.

We stayed at the adjoining Ameron Hotel and can only review Cantinetta’s breakfast. We would have loved to check our their dinner options but simply had not enough days in Hamburg left.
Having a restaurant/hotel during Covid-19 times is hard, however I highly commend Cantinetta’s team for implementing the requested safety and hygiene measure in their restaurant.
Everything we tried was delicious, they have a wide selection of breakfast foods, the interior is tasteful and I love that during breakfast I have an amazing view of the UNESCO world heritage site Speicherstadt.
The lady who greeted us upon entry, who is presumably the restaurant manager, is an absolute sweetheart. She went out of her way to make us and our 8 month old daughter feel welcome and comfortable. What a great way to start your day! We have stayed in many hotels and travel extensively but have never witnessed such wonderful hospitality.
Highly recommend this restaurant and hope you get to make an equally positive experience.

Just a delightful experience . We did this this as part of a package with a river cruise so a limited menu . Service was non intrusive and incredibly helpful and the food !!! Off the chart good . Every little nuance of all dishes balanced beautifully. Bravo chef , and all other staff !!

The most amazing place to have an Italian dinner. A very warm and polite welcome. The most wonderful and helping waiter, and of course also his colleagues. The dinner was extremely good and so was the wine that our waiter chose for us. We will definitely come back next time we are in Hamburg.

Great location amazing service team. But the food was very underwhelming. It’s quit impressive to make a beef carpaccio tasting fade. And the risotto was like from a canteen. Sorry chef, but I believe u can do much better. We we went on a Sunday evening. Was that the problem ?
