I’m writing to document a deeply unprofessional and upsetting series of experiences at this restaurant.
I have visited Cantina multiple times. While the food itself can be decent, the management and service issues have been consistently unprofessional.
First incident:
On a prior visit, I was injured by a broken wooden chair. While adjusting the chair, the top collapsed and crushed my finger, causing immediate bruising and discoloration (blue/purple). The manager appeared unsure how to handle the situation and offered minimal assistance. Other patrons commented that I should not have been charged due to the injury. The response from management was disorganized, dismissive, and lacked basic concern.
Second incident:
On a later visit, I ordered nachos with specific ingredients removed — an order I have placed successfully before, including via takeout. The food was prepared incorrectly. I informed staff and briefly stepped away to allow time for it to be corrected. When I returned, I was met with attitude and conflicting information about whether the food had already been remade. No clear communication or timeline was provided.
When I attempted to address the issue with the manager, I was told, “It’s always something wrong with you,” which was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Only after I began recording did the tone shift. I was then asked to show proof of payment from my bank account, which was unnecessary and embarrassing, particularly in front of other customers.
The owner later became involved but did not de-escalate the situation. Instead, the interaction felt defensive and accusatory. The owner stated that they “did not have to serve me,” despite the fact that I had already paid for my order. He initially appeared unaware that payment had been made and seemed surprised when this was confirmed.
Rather than correcting the order or resolving the issue professionally, I was explicitly told that my order would not be fixed and that I would not be served. Although I had already paid and waited over an hour, my payment was refunded and service was refused. As a result, I was made to leave hungry and without my food.
I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but repeated failures in basic customer service — particularly involving injury, incorrect orders, dismissive language, and refusal of service after payment — make it impossible to recommend this establishment.
There are nearby restaurants that handle customer concerns professionally and respectfully. Unfortunately, Cantina has not shown that level of consistency or care.
Amazing service! (I’m in the service industry) and the food was delicious so flavorful so fresh! The music the drinks the everything was just on point!
menu and it wasn’t busy, the girl who served me took my order and disappeared. I wanted to order some chips but I couldn’t stand up to look for the waitress. The tables do not have salt, pepper and the tacos do not come with any spicy sauce to accompany them. but the beers were pretty good.
