We sat in the outdoor patio area with our dog and had a nice lunch date. We both enjoyed the free chips and salsa, and the $11.99 lunch special that includes a soft drink (M-F only). My husband had the California burrito and I had the Baja salad. Both were generously sized and yummy. I had the basic Margarita Louie, it was just ok, I would pick a different margarita next time. Service was great, friendly, and quick, they even brought water for our dog which was nice. I would like to return and try other items.

Stop reading, just go. The food is fantastic. It had more of a west coast style Mexican food flair that I miss. Service at the bar was great. Prices were reasonable. The paintings on the wall a decor were very well done and the artist that did the murals deserves thier own 5 star review. I definitely saved this spot and will be coming back when I’m back in town.

We were excited for some good Mexican food here in Jacksonville. Unfortunately, we couldn’t give a good rating for this place.

We ordered a Chimichanga (ground beef), Veggie Burrito, 32 oz Lime Margarita & Horchata.

We ordered delivery through Door Dash.

PROS: Food was cooked well and seemed like fresh ingredients. Drinks were average. Loved the little jugs the drinks came in. Salsa was good.

CONS: Flavor…. where is the flavor? No seasoning at all! At first I thought it was just my veggie burrito…. sometimes veggies can be boring but my husband’s Chimichanga was so incredibly plain! The ground beef had zero seasoning. Even a little cumin would’ve made a big difference.

And that was the whitest spanish rice I ever tasted…. no flavor. Is this what they are known for and we just missed it? … Plain / blan / flavorless mexican food?

And skimping on cheese! You couldn’t even see the white cheese on my burrito…it was so thin. And im not sure the chimi had any either.

My advice…. have some seasoning on hand… hot sauce, lime, cumin. And/or order extra cheese and salsa to slather your food in. It may be good with those additions.

I hate leaving bad reviews but I’d want to know this if I was deciding.

Came in for a drink and to take advantage of taco Tuesday which is a wonderful deal. So many tacos to choose from which all 4 different ones I had hit the spot. Margaritas on point and the bartender Ashleigh was amazing definitely coming back!

Cantina Louie has a nice variety of choices. It was hard to choose. I decided on a healthy chicken salad and my friend had breakfast. Service was fast and everything was delicious. The mimosas were a nice addition and the price was easy on the purse.

Every time I’m in Jacksonville, I make sure to stop in here at least once or twice on my visit. The food here is amazing! I haven’t ordered something I haven’t liked. It’s as if Taco Tuesdays were meant to be celebrated here!!
Other than the food, the margaritas are fantastic. I get a different one every time, but
my favorite would probably be the Spicy Watermelon or Black Diamond.
Last but not least, the service has always been nice and friendly. I’ve never been treated with anything but a positive attitude.
If you come here, I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

I love cantina Louie. It’s my family’s favorite Mexican restaurant in Jacksonville and we have gone to several of the locations for years. The quality is always very consistent. We always order the blackened shrimp tacos. However I went over the weekend for the first time in a couple of months and was very surprised to see that they no longer put large regular shrimp in the tacos. Instead it was baby small sized shrimp which changed the flavor and quality of the tacos. I hope they will bring back the old style

Nice folks, bad food. I tried the chimichurri steak taco and the bang bang shrimp taco, which is supposed to have Esquites (Mexican street corn) on it. It’s made with CANNED CORN. YUCK. The chimichurri sauce was also mediocre at best, and the steak was tough, weird little nuggets of meat. Even the Mexican rice was over cooked and meh.

Cantina Louie understood the assignment.
Cantina Luis hooked me up with the mini tacos—were there a lot? Yes totally not mini! Every bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and downright addictive. Small tacos. BIG attitude.
Great service, fun vibe, and tacos that live rent-free in my head now. I’ll be back… and yes, I’m ordering those mini tacos again. ✨
