My family just happened upon this place when the restaurant we wanted to go to was packed. It must’ve been meant to be because we really enjoyed ourselves. Our waitress was so kind and helpful, even offering to bring our baby fresh fruit when he started to get a little fussy. The food was excellent and the atmosphere perfect. We will definitely be returning.

This was my 2nd time coming here with family hoping it was better. Not at all. I had the crunchy tacos with rice and beans. Those are the hard shells you get at the store, not freshly made or heated. Filled with cheddar cheese (not mexican cheese), meat and lettuce. No salsa on the table or brought out. The meat filling was bland. Not a fan of the rice and beans. Could have used sour cream with the tacos to perk them up. My friend had the black bean quesadilla. The beans weren’t drained leaving a soaking mess not easy to pick up and falling apart. My husband had a burrito and found it missing flavor, seasoning.
None of us finished our meal. The pictures were taken when served.
To start with they don’t serve chops and salsa when seated. They use too. There is a sign at the table stating so and how much unless you purchase quest dips. What if your there order dinner? Nope

I recently dined at Cantina Laredo and overall had a good experience. The ambiance was absolutely 10/10 — the atmosphere was vibrant, stylish, and perfect for a night out. From the moment I sat at the bar, the bartender was courteous, attentive, and very polite, which set a great tone for the evening.

However, once we were seated at our table, the service wasn’t as impressive. It felt a bit slow and less attentive than expected, which was disappointing considering how strong the experience started.

That said, the ambiance alone makes it worth another visit, and I would definitely give it another try.

Food was very good, very very close to authentic Mexican food which is hard to find
Beans were great, we loved the carnitas tacos, the shrimps and the dessert.

Had some dinner with a friend who lives in the Cosmopolitan near by and the entire experience was great. From the welcoming hostess to the seating to the service and of course the food, it was top-tier dining. Highly recommend if you are in the area. Free parking in the garage and a small walk to the entrance.

We had a reservation for 8pm and we were walking home by 8:45. The only thing that was 100% in my eyes is the outside of the building. Can I say stunning. We live in the area and see it all the time and finally decided to go. We won’t be back… nothing specifically was horrible. The server stated he was new and if that’s true he needs just a bit more training… first of all the menu asks if you want to add a coronita for $3.50. We were given a modelo…okay that’s fine it’s a great beer, but still. Our appetizer plates were dirty…not telling how long they had been on the table seeing as the restaurant was empty. Also our appetizer was COVERED in lettuce…probably to hide the small amount of chicken less chicken tapas that we were given. Our mains were below mid in flavor. I had two small pieces of well done steak in them and a soggy tortilla. My boyfriend’s food was a bland burrito covered in cheese to hid the flavorless ness of it. Our rice was either premade or under cooked. The queso was what made it mid. Because it wasn’t awful. My boyfriend’s drink was okay; however, the glass was cracked. When we told the server he picked it up and then put it right back down. Glad he didn’t cut his tongue on it. First, mine didn’t come with a rim, which isn’t that big of a deal but then my drink was sickeningly sweet… i probably had like two sips. Nothing was 100% wrong but we won’t be back.

Very Good Modern Mexican! We were greeted cheerfully at the door and taken directly to a table with a street view. Our server, Angie P was prompt, courteous, and very knowledgeable of the menu. She made several great recommendations.
The salsa is some of the best that I’ve ever had. The chips are served warm and fresh. I ordered off of the vegetarian menu and had the Impossible Bowl. Nice flavor and very good portion. We finished the meal with Mexican Apple Pie. AMAZING! It sizzles, it steams, it smells delicious. You have to try it.
I applaud Cantina Laredo for having a separate vegetarian menu. Many times when I eat in a Mexican restaurant, I’m stuck with vegetable fajitas or I have to ask them to alter the dish.

I just walked in and was able to sit at the bar. I chose the bar for faster service as I was short on time. However, that was an unfortunate detriment. Took almost 10 mins to be greeted by one of two bartenders. Bar half full. Once I got my drink order, it took another 15 mins before I was checked on again for food. Glass was empty. One was engaged to only the other side while the bar tender helping me was running back and forth to the kitchen (which is on the other side of the restaurant) to deliver food to others at the bar. Since time was running, I chose something easy like the Nachos. To my surprise, they took about 25 mins to reach me and the restaurant was about half full. Once the tacos came out, I was surprised again to not receive nachos, but 9 very small tortillas with one piece of meat and a dash of herb. All toppings in the center. First time I had to construct my Nachos for $20. Thankfully, the food was okay. Overcooked steak, but everything else was good (picture provided). Too much time for the money. With this atmosphere, this place has potential to be one of THE hottest spots in the area, but management needs to step it up. A lot.

Wow oh wow, did we enjoy the food here. The chimichanga was out of this world. I ordered a chicken one. My husband loved what he ordered too. This has to be one of the best chimichangas I’ve had in Virginia Beach. The spicy margaritas were also on point! We will be back.
