My wife and I went in about 1.5 hours before closing, and it wasn’t too busy. The environment is very elegant and old school feeling, but in a good way. Think “old Mexican cantina, but upscale”. They nailed the lighting and atmosphere.

The service was excellent, Gerson and Anthony were friendly, fast on refills, and I can tell that they love working there.

The food was good, not great. The octopus (pulpo) tacos were the best, they came out like traditional tacos and were stuffed with meat and toppings. The chicken tacos were like little rolled-up quesadillas with minimal chicken inside, mostly cheese. It was unexpected and would be better if they were more similar to actual tacos.

The Mexican Mozzarella Sticks were not mind-blowing, just some cheese flautas in a bowl with avocado based sauce. I think some fresh ingredients like cilantro, onions, etc would go a long way for making flavors pop.

Overall, we will definitely be back to try other dishes and to see Gerson and Anthony

I came in for lunch and dinner the first weekend they opened and was shocked with how great the service was for the short duration of being open. when the food came out, it was so hot and so delicious. you can tell they put great thought into the menu and drinks. it is so affordable for what you get. I will be coming back often! what a great addition to the dallas tex mex market! i’m so pleased! oh and the dessert! order everything!

Fantastic food, the quesadillas were delicious. Great portions so ended up with leftovers which is the best! The margaritas were good and strong. Vibes were fantastic and the wait staff were super friendly. I’m absolutely going back

We’re really excited to have this restaurant in the neighborhood and are rooting for its success — they’ve only been open a few days and we visited on their second night of service, so we know there’s still a groove to find.

The atmosphere was lovely and relatively quiet, which made for great conversation. Drinks were very good.

Service could use some fine-tuning. It took a while for water to arrive, and refills didn’t happen automatically — we had to request them. Overall pacing was slow; at one point, the table behind us sat with finished plates for about forty minutes before they were cleared.

The food shows promise but needs refinement. The enchiladas felt incomplete and would benefit from fresh elements like onion, avocado, or a drizzle of salsa verde to brighten the flavors. The TJ tacos were delicious and well-seasoned, but the portion of meat (roughly an ounce per taco) was too small — doubling it would make a big difference. The churros, however, were fantastic and a highlight of the meal.

There were several members of management present, but they didn’t engage with guests or check in at tables, which was surprising for a brand-new restaurant. A simple welcome or follow-up would go a long way in creating connection with the neighborhood they’re serving.

We’ll definitely be back and are hopeful to see them settle in and improve — the foundation is there and we want them to succeed.

We had a wonderful dinner at Cantina La Rosa. Anthony served us on the patio and provided excellent service. We loved the margaritas! For dinner, we shared the queso with beef and the steak fajitas—plenty for the two of us! We enjoyed the smoky salsa, and my husband is very particular about his salsa. A great addition to the neighborhood. All they need now is happy hour!

Great addition to the neighborhood. I know this place will do well, and they’re off to a good start . The TJ tacos were great, and the chicken enchiladas were the best i’ve had in a while. Good portions, great flavors. Service was excellent and the drinks were strong enough to matter. Easy spot to bring the family, or just grab dinner and a drink after a long day. Worth supporting

Writing this review because I WANT this restaurant to do well.

The good: it’s in a great location, the interior is beautiful, the patio has Dallas spring written all over it, the service is excellent. All in all, a lot to get excited about!

The bad: unfortunately, it’s the food. The menu looks so promising but just didn’t deliver. The queso came out cold the first time so we sent it back. The second one only came out lukewarm. And who wants cold queso? For entrees, we ordered the carne asada and the southwest salad with chicken. The salad gave hospital cafeteria vibes – bland and no flavor. The ribeye meat in the carne asada was very obviously a poor quality meat and was overcooked. The tortillas were gummy.

I would love this restaurant to do well as it has so much promise but until the food quality, prep, and flavor is fixed, there’s too many other great Mexican restaurants in the area. We’ll try it again in a few months to see if the grand opening jitters get worked out!

We just returned from lunch. The food was excellent. Each dish had real flavor not just heat as some restaurants do. The atmosphere was welcoming and very friendly-service was great. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.
