This place is AMAZING. We came up from old city and had the best margs of our life. The food is absolutely incredible. True authentic cuisine that makes you feel like you’re eating food cooked by your Mexican grandmother. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating – really can’t recommend this enough!

Don’t be intimidated by the atmosphere outside. The food inside is absolutely delicious. Beautiful colors on the walls and engaging music provide a very sensual yet energetic atmosphere. They have a gigantic outdoor area that could easily accompany a party of 50. Service was excellent and I could tell they had a large tequila selection would highly recommend!

This place is as good as advertised. Authenticate Mexican that is elevated with dishes you aren’t getting at your basic taqueria. Amazing atmosphere inside and the outdoor area is great for a large rowdy group. If tequila is your choice, they have great ones you have never heard of! I got the pork shank with potatoes, cauliflower puree, and even toasted ants on top. It was amazing. You can’t go wrong w the queso fundido either, my fav dish by far. Love this place, can’t wait to take friends and strangers back!

Had a great first experience here last night, trying the dinner menu. Excellent food, beautiful presentation, good cocktails, friendly service. A little bit of a wait on the food, but the server was proactive in telling us, and we were fine w a slower evening catching up with friends. Stars of the meal were the ceviche, guacamole, tamales, and the Chamorro entree. We will be back! Hoping the success of this great place can help to clean up the streets a little bit in this area.

This has to be some of the best Mexican food in Philadelphia. I came with a group of friends and we got several different dishes that we shared and they were all outstanding (my novice photography skills don’t do them justice). Some of the best margaritas I’ve had in a while too! The ambiance is great, staff were friendly and attentive, and while we ate inside, the outdoor space seemed lovely. It’s right outside the Somerset stop on the MFL. I’m comfortable taking public transportation throughout the city but I would recommend coming with a friend if you do so, or taking a ride share to get to and from rather than driving. While this restaurant is in the heart of the Kensington neighborhood and the realities of this are quite evident, it’s a wonderful spot that does good work for its neighbors in Kensington and is well worth a trip for those who are a little adventurous and enjoy amazing and authentic food.

Best Mexican food I’ve ever had! It’s not in the greatest neighborhood, so if you’re afraid to drive in, take an Uber. It is worth it!!! Oh and the Churros and cannolis were amazing

The food here is incredible! To start we had the tuetano y chapulines (bone marrow and grasshoppers). The dish itself was great and the accompanying tortillas were somehow still noteworthy in and of themselves. We also tried the chamorro (a braised pork shank) after seeing so many recommendations for it and all those folks were absolutely correct! The pork shank is amazingly tender and one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. While I haven’t been able to find a drink menu on their website, they have a bar and cocktail menu. All of the margaritas that we tried were excellent.
