Reviews
The service was basic and unremarkable. Given the price point and reputation, I expected a higher level of consistency and overall quality.
Fun music, friendly service and delicious food and cocktails. Highlights were the Mexzal papaya Negroni, the veggie/fruit ceviche (trust me), and the pork chop that was worth a one hour wait.
One dish I ordered I end up eating it by myself was a phenomenal trips due with giant shrimp served on top. You have to be a fan of trip to like this, but if you are a fan, this will be heaven for you.
We arrived at 12:30 pm without a reservation and were lucky to get a seat, as the place started filling up slowly after 1pm.
Our waitress recommended the 2.5–3 lb chargrilled catch of the day (seabass) to share between two people — the portion was generous and deliciously satisfying. I also had the bone marrow to start, and it was good!
Overall rating: 5/5
Food: Stew -Overly salty and rice was undercooked.
Value: The meal felt overpriced for the quality and portion. (Only 4 medium prawns)
Presentation: High marks. It looked very appetizing.
Service: The service was a major letdown. It was over 15 minutes after arrival when someone finally took my order. There was minimal, if any, proactive attention:
The food arrived fairly quickly, and I was happy about that but…
No one asked if I enjoyed my food or if I wanted anything else.
I didn’t receive any check-ins during the meal, and I felt ignored while others around me seemed to receive more attention.
I wanted another glass of wine but I settled for the water provided.
It wasn’t about being busy; it felt personally neglected.
I didn’t even know they offered dessert until I saw it served to the table next to me. But I had already checked out.
Atmosphere: The ambiance was fine, but it didn’t compensate for the inattentive service.
Consider nearby options (e.g., Mercado de Mariscos) casual dining where the food quality can be on par for half the price, and with noticeably better service.
Takeaway: If patience is a virtue, this place doubles as a meditation retreat—you’ll master the art of waiting between bites, when you finally get your food, while looking for eye-contact with your server. Bon appétit?
