While waiting for my takeout order to be ready, they brought out complimentary chips, salsa, and water, which was such a nice touch and made the wait even more enjoyable. The service was friendly and welcoming, and my order was ready on time.
If you’re looking for good Mexican food with great flavor and great service, Cantina Azteca is definitely worth checking out.
For my first time here, I ordered the chimichanga with pastor pork. While I waited for the order they brought out chips and salsa. The salsa was just ok, but the chips were surprisingly delightful. There was a light seasoning on them that was delicious. Very tasty!
The chimichanga was wonderful. It was excellently seasoned, and the marinated pork was wonderful. I WILL order this again.
Some concluding thoughts:
The menu was large, and there was a strange level of variety. The main menu included a variety of Mexican dishes as well as some items like hamburgers.
The kids menu was interesting as well. It included items like grilled cheese sandwiches, cheese burgers, chicken strips, etc. I suppose if you have picky kids, this can be a plus. There is variety for every picky preference they may have.
The restrooms were well kept and very clean.
Sitting at the bar, I got a house Margarita and 2 tacos to start. I love that the tacos came with caramelized onions and salsa verde. With complimentary chips and salsa, this was becoming a great meal. Greedily, I squeezed in a Dos Equia Amber draft beer. Somehow this draft did not feel as fresh or delicious as I had remembered, but only $4. Pre-tax and tip, this whole meal was only $16. What a great deal!
I had to bring some food back for my mom so I got the nachos and fajita quesadilla. The nachos were fine, but that steak fajita quesadilla was excellent! Normally just cheese and meat, but with fajita, this quesadilla was taken to another level. Too bad I don’t live in Carmichael, otherwise I’d go back almost every week. =)
Saturday was the day for me and my friend. We’ve been to another business in this shopping center, but it’s usually more in the evening time and there was parking. Parking on a Saturday is no joke. It’s rough out there on a Saturday for brunch time. Once you get a spot, success to the mecca of the cantina.
Very much cute vibes inside. There is bar seating and a large dining room. People were chatting, munching on chips and salsa, and adding to the great environment.
Staff is super friendly and nice. Before you even order the bring chips and two salsas. Yum yum to the sour cream salsa, it even had a little kick.
I ordered a vampiro because, who doesn’t need a boost to your immune system. My friend ordered a Michelado.
For food I got the omelet and he got the pozole. He recommends it. The omelet was good, I think I should have gotten a different dish.
I’ve been eyeing that they have unlimited mimosas, that was one of the big sellers of coming. Wow, not disappointed at all. They brought us both pitchers.
They even have vegan options here.
Definitely recommend to come and hangout.
