I ordered the pineapple chicken, and it was a showstopper. Two juicy, grilled chicken breasts were topped with sweet pineapple rings and plump shrimp, all drenched in creamy queso. The chicken was seasoned to perfection—smoky, savory, and kissed with tropical sweetness from the pineapple. It sat atop a bed of flavorful Mexican rice, with fresh pico de gallo, crisp lettuce, and sour cream that added just the right tang. The plate was generous and beautifully plated, with textures and colors that made it as appealing to the eyes as it was to the taste buds.
My date went with the birria tacos, and they were absolutely mouthwatering. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, packed with shredded beef and garnished with cilantro and onions. The consommé was rich and aromatic—perfect for dipping and sipping. Paired with lime wedges and a side of rice and beans, it was a comforting, satisfying dish that hit every note.
We started with an order of queso, which had a creamy, velvety texture and was served with crispy house-made chips. It reminded me of a gourmet spin on a classic comfort dip—simple, addictive, and perfect for sharing.
Now let’s talk about the salsa bar. I tried the creamy green jalapeño salsa, and it was phenomenal—smooth, spicy, and full of flavor. It had a bold jalapeño kick without overpowering the dish, and I ended up grabbing several containers of each salsa to keep the flavor party going.
To wash it all down, we shared a frozen blue raspberry and strawberry mixed margarita, served in a massive goblet-style glass with a sugared rim, lime wedge, and fruit garnish. It was visually stunning—swirls of icy blue and red, topped with an orange slice and cherry—and tasted just as good as it looked. Sweet, tangy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of tequila.
The exterior of the restaurant is just as inviting as the food—bright, colorful signage and a welcoming entrance that hints at the fun and flavor inside. It’s located in a shopping plaza, but once you step through the doors, you’re transported into a lively, festive space that celebrates bold flavors and good vibes.
Cantaritos Tacos & Tequila has officially earned a spot in my top three New Mexican restaurants in Oklahoma. The menu is stacked with dishes I’m eager to try next, and the atmosphere, flavors, and service make it a must-visit. Highly recommend!
I don’t even like tortillas! But you cant eat a decent size, sizzling bowl of molcajete with all the sauce without something to even out all the favor and juices.
The food is also way over priced. Taco plate for $5 a taco is pretty nutty.
Way better places on the Southside for much less, regardless of having a store front or not.
They also didnt offer us cups for water either. Have to ask for every little thing.
The asada and the pastor was really good along with the tortillas that came with it. Carne asada fries were good just needed more meat for the price I think. Fries and tenders, fries were a bit frozen still on my sons plate. The chicken was really good. Salsa bar was great and flavorful.
My nachos could have been better if the beef wasnt on there, which I assumed is would have been asada bc asada is beef. Nope I was wrong. The beef didnt tast good at all. Next time ill switch that then they should be great.
