We went to Cantaberry on a cloudy cold day because we wanted some homemade soups and were happy that we did. The soup were simply delicious (chicken and wild rice for me and beef stew for my husband). We also ordered hot beef sandwich and Italian Club which are both good. We ended with the Millions Dollars cake which was heavenly!!! Also, the price is so good ($15 for a whole bowl of soup and a whole sandwich!!!). The slice of cake is $9.

Holy cow! I cant believe how excellent our lunch was at this restaurant in downtown Ellijay. The soup was outstanding and the pastrami sandwich was next level. I will definitely be coming back here next time I come up to this area. Or better yet, I think we may just make a special trip to get some great food!

Great spot for lunch; sandwiches are hearty and fresh. Both indoor and outdoor seating. A very popular restaurant off the main square; parking could be challenging, and some folks parked at nearby lot behind the Welcome Center.

Set in a historic brick building on Ellijay’s downtown square, Cantaberry offers a cozy, rustic atmosphere. Their menu excels in comfort pairings, featuring the famous creamy Chicken and Wild Rice soup alongside gourmet sandwiches like the grape and pecan-studded Chicken Salad or the signature Turkey Bacon Avocado on fresh bread.

This was my 3rd visit. Hopefully our server was just having a bad day. I ordered a large Ceasar salad and the chicken/pesto sandwich with fries (I was really hungry!). I was surprised when the sandwich & fries came out before the salad, and I told the server that I really just wanted to cancel the salad at that point (since my hot food already arrived) … but she just plopped the salad down anyway, and started to walk off. I had to stop her, and ask her for cutlery, to even be able to eat the salad. Server rolled her eyes at me, but got the cutlery rolls. My tea needed a refill by the time any food arrived, but none was offered. Nobody checked on us after food arrived until it was time to pay, or order dessert, so I had to go to the counter to ask for a refill. Server snatched my glass, and brought a refill a few moments later. I noticed the server had automatically added a “service fee”, without mentioning it. I asked if we had to pay a service fee, if paying with debit, and she said “no”, and she removed it. (This was before noon on a Sunday). The food was all excellent!! My friend had the turkey/avocado sandwich and got 2 desserts to go we both spent over $30 per person. The hosts were very accommodating and helpful.

Great place to eat! I got their Cuban with tater tots, the sandwich was very good, really good pickles, tater tots are nice and crispy. Their chocolate cake was delicious too!

The Tuna salad sandwich was perfect, the service was pleasant and very helpful. Great place to meet people. If you are in the down town area, you need to eat here at least once, good meeting place, indoor and out door eating.

Got seated right away. Food was very good and nice-sized portions overall…however, the Cuban was kind of small. Waitress was a doll, very pleasant and prompt. Didn’t rush us at all. Million dollar cake was absolutely delicious! Prices were reasonable. Sides were limited…fruit, coleslaw, pasta salad. $2.50 up charge for fries or onion rings, which seemed excessive based on the menu prices. Overall, a very nice place!

Cantaberry is hands-down one of my favorite places and has been for years. The food is consistently phenomenal — comforting, flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with so much care. Every single dish feels thoughtful and intentional, and no matter how many times I come, I’m always blown away. It’s the kind of food that becomes part of the memories you make around the table.

I’m so thankful for the staff who have always treated us so well over the years and for all the moments this place has held for us. Today was especially special as we celebrated the most perfect day for my sweet friend Kassidy. The owner, Jessica, made the kindest accommodations for us, and the staff went truly above and beyond for our larger party — attentive, warm, and incredibly gracious.

Cantaberry is more than just an amazing restaurant; it’s a place filled with heart, exceptional food, and unforgettable experiences. I’m so grateful for years of incredible meals, beautiful memories, and hospitality that never misses.

We started the year with a nice trip to Ellijay GA, a great place for a winter visit. A couple of years before when visiting Blue Ridge GA, another great, quiet, beautiful place to visit in the winter, we dined at the Cantaberry location there. Loved it. My wife already knew there was one in Ellijay, so it was our first stop for food. We parked several blocks away and walked the nice area the restaurant is in. In Blue ridge we discovered the soups. Giant bowls of delicious hot pleasure. Every bite fantastic. Of course we had soup. The chicken and wild rice. It was as good as we remembered. Also ordered sandwiches, a Rueben for Liz and a Cantaberry Club for me, to take back to the cabin we had rented up in the mountains for later. The BIG BOWL of soup was more than enough for lunch. The place is warm and friendly, beautifully decorated. Staff as nice and helpful as you could want. Our waitress Gaby, was excellent, keeping the drinks coming, getting things we needed and nice light conversation. We had to get a few of the delicious looking baguettes we saw everyone getting to take for later too, and some more soup. The price was remarkably fair, really far less than you would pay in Savannah for something similar. But there is nothing like The Cantaberry anywhere else. Pretty unique! No wait when we arrived but many people waiting when we left. A very good filling meal no matter what you get. Every bite was to savor. Don’t miss this place whether in Ellijay or Blue Ridge.
