As soon as I walked in I knew Cannelle Northville was special and the perfect fit for the downtown landscape. The display of decadent pastries, croissants of all sorts, sweet and savory, and the cakes might induce a petite morte if not careful. The interior was elegant but comfortable and the French bistro music that played along with the forks and cups dancing across the porcelain plates and saucers made my time there even more special. My cherry pastry was flaky and tart, delicious till the last bite. My daughter’s cinnamon rope, she said was equally tasty. I will be returning quite often.

We love cannele. Their croissants are probably my favorite. The desserts are great too but not all are to our taste. As Europeans we have tried several desserts from Europe and have experience the true desserts of Europe and some do not compare. They are also highly priced per individual however their cakes are amazing and our go to. They are also grately priced compared to American cakes where you pay double the price and all you get is cake and frosting these cakes are awesome!

We got 4 pastries and 1 drink.
The pistachio raspberry tart was our favorite. Beautiful flavor and color, 9.5/10
The MK mango tied with the plateau chocolat for second. The mango flavor was fresh and vibrant and it was very pretty. 9/10
The Plateau chocolat was rich and deep, and the chewy thick wafer at the bottom was a delight. 9/10
The lemon tart was sadly our least favorite. It was good, but I felt like I could have gotten the same at a nearby grocery store. The raspberry filling was a nice surprise, but it’s a very “safe” choice. 7.5/10
And sadly, the hot chocolate I got was not good. Maybe the barista messed up the ratio? It tasted like hot milk with 1/2 the chocolate flavor it should have had. It wasn’t too sweet which was nice. 4/10

Cute cute new pastry shoppe in downtown Northville. Very busy. Beautiful food. It was hopping at lunch today. No tables available and people waiting for seats to open. It’s casual, counter ordering, so groups were just parked at tables, with laptops, with kids. Not dissing people, just not enough tables for those who wanted to hang out on a cold Friday. My friend and I got some dessert for takeout but had to leave to grab lunch elsewhere since there were no seats. The food all looked amazing and the dessert we got was delicious. I’ll try the yummy salads another time. Three stars for seating…maybe ten tables inside. Everything else was great.

Beautiful well deserved recognition for its amazing high end sweets! Everything is top notch. The layers of each individual cake is incredible. Love trying something new each week. Very clean place inside. Staff are wonderful at the Downtown Farmington one where I go. Thank you for giving your talent and expertise to this cafe. The prices are fair considering how much work goes into each cake. Well worth every penny!
