Cane Rosso’s fresh, never-frozen dough is made in-house every day, using all natural OO flour imported from Italy. The sauce for our pizzas is made from hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes, and our mozzarella is pulled fresh in-house daily. Cane Rosso pizzas are thin-crust, but are most definitely not “New York style.” Neapolitan style pizzas like ours are meant to be eaten with a knife and fork and are crafted using only the highest quality ingredients available. Our pizzas are fired in our specially built wood-fired oven from Italy that reaches 900 degrees and cooks our pizzas in under 90 seconds for a delicate and light, slightly charred dough. Cane Rosso also offers a selection of pastas, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.

Pizzeria specializing in wood-fired Neapolitan pies. plus Italian sandwiches, pastas & desserts.

I visited Cane Rosso for the first time recently on a friend’s recommendation, and overall it was a great experience. The Brussels sprouts were especially delicious, and I would absolutely order them again. They were well-seasoned and paired perfectly with the ricotta cheese, and during Happy Hour all appetizers were $2 off, which was a nice bonus.

We also took advantage of the $10 Happy Hour Margarita Pizza, along with a couple of pizzas not included in the deal like the Truffle Shuffle and the Honey Bastard. All of them were solid and flavorful choices.

The food came out quickly, the restaurant was clean, and the service was great. Our server, Emma, took excellent care of us and explained their authentic pizza style: a thin, crunchy crust with a perfectly chewy inside.

I’m giving this a solid 4 stars instead of 5 simply because while everything was very good, nothing quite wowed me enough to push it into “must-have, can’t-stop-thinking-about-it” territory. Still, it’s a great spot with good food, good service, and a worthwhile Happy Hour.

Yhis place is warm and inviting. All the dishes we tried were great. My favoties were the Truffle Carbonara & the Shrimp Scampi. The lasagna is worth a try. Our server was Georgia and she was absolutely fantastic. She went over the menu and shared the favorites. If you go early enough there is metered parking in front that will cost you about $3 for about 2hrs.

We went on 01/06/26 at 3pm for the happy hour specials. First off our server a shorter lady with blond hair was so nice and informative. It was so hard to not order half the whole menu cause everything sounded so good. 3 of us ordered 2 pizzas, 2 pastas, and 1 dessert, my favorite was the Trojan pizza and the shrimp scampi; we started to order the Beast for dessert but opted for the Ladybird — it had Nutella so it’s very sweet and so it gave me the idea to put red pepper flakes on it and it was AMAZING.

Oh definitely a fave for pizza!! I sure do love pizza! My fave… all shapes! All toppings! Not reviewed before and so not our first visit and not our last. So many menu options to explore. Toppings are always so fresh! Orders are always so prompt and accurate. So many drink options. Beer is always cold! Can’t wait to try out desserts… if don’t get too full from the tempting pizza options

Stopped by for lunch. Had the pizza combo special…..chose a Margherita pizza and Caesar salad. The Caesar salad dressing and topping was amazing. The pizza was really good as well. Food came out quickly but my salad and pizza arrived at the same time. Kind of wish the salad came a few minutes earlier.

Table seating, bar seating, and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly.

Cane Rosso on Commerce is a low key Neapolitan pizza spot with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. I tried it during a Deep Ellum food tour and it was by far my favorite stop. Our server took time to explain the origin and culture of the restaurant, along with the technique behind making the pies. We tried the Honey Bastard and Ladybird. Both were delicious. I’ve since returned and regularly order to go.

Well….we came to a pizza place and had pasta. The brisket lasagna was good, but the brisket just tasted like ground beef. Second we ordered the shrimp scampi, good, but not great. We accidentally were brought the pistachio pasta (pasta of the month) it was the table favorite.

Net net…pizza next time. HOWEVER, the portions were huge. Any normal adult could split a meal.

Service was excellent.

5 stars. Cane Rosso delivered a strong experience from start to finish. The Cast Iron Spinach Dip arrived sizzling. The cheese settled into a smooth, thick texture that held to each bite. The spinach stayed fresh-tasting and didn’t get lost under the cheese. The seasoning stayed balanced. No bitterness. The toasted bread held its crunch and didn’t go soggy. You taste quality ingredients and intention in every scoop.
The Fried Nuggz came out with a clean, crisp exterior. The breading kept flavor without feeling heavy. The chicken stayed tender and moist. No grease pooling on the plate. Each piece tasted consistent. The portion size made sense for sharing. It works as an opener or something to snack on while waiting on the main.
The Billy Ray Valentine stood out. The crust stayed light with a defined bite. No dough collapse. The toppings sat evenly across each slice. The heat level blended into the flavor instead of overpowering it. Each ingredient tasted distinct. The sauce carried depth without turning sweet. The cheese melted smoothly and held without separating. You feel the recipe has been tested and refined.
Service stayed steady and attentive. Drinks never ran empty. Staff offered clear recommendations without pushing add-ons. The pacing of the meal stayed even. The dining room held a relaxed tone with enough energy to feel inviting.
The menu gives you multiple strong choices. You can explore different flavor profiles without guessing. Nothing felt rushed or thrown together. Every plate arrived with intention and detail.
I will return. I will order the same items again.

I went to Cane Rosso and overall I had a really good experience. The vibe inside was laid back but still felt nice, like the kind of place you can go for a casual dinner but also take someone on a date. The staff was friendly from the moment I walked in, and I didn’t feel rushed at all.

I ordered one of their pizzas, and honestly, it lived up to the hype. The crust was thin, slightly crispy, and had that perfect char that makes it taste authentic. The toppings tasted fresh, and the flavor was way better than your average pizza spot. I could tell it was made with quality ingredients. I also tried one of their appetizers, and it was a good portion for sharing.

The only downside was that it can get pretty busy, so the wait time might be long depending on the day. But overall, the food and atmosphere made it worth it. I’d definitely go back.
