We first ate there in 1973. The place was remodeled a few years back and they kept the kitchen staff on payroll during the remodeling so the food would stay the same when it reopened. We ate there again on Nov 24 and the food was as great as I remembered. I had the large all everything burrito which was just as good as the old days. My wife had a Mexican plate and she ate the whole thing. The arched entry booths are still there and you there is a bit of privacy when you’re in one. The juke boxes would still work in they can find someone to repair the main box. The service was fantastic and they even opened a bit early when they saw us waiting outside. The only thing missing was the waitresses with the lighted ear rings. Oh well, some things have to change. BTW – they also have a private room for 8 for families and small groups. To simplify – great service, great food and still comes with the nostalgic atmosphere. Gotta love it.

I was excited to come check out this historic place! First pizzas in Arlington is what I heard. It was disappointing. Very dark place. Bathrooms smell like sewer (I don’t know if that is all the time?) The food was fine but nothing special. The waiter and another female were really nice and attentive. Maybe this place is surviving on its name and history? I would love to see this place revived!

Went to this restaurant tonight with my spouse for the first time. We had Sarah as our waitress. The food was very well prepared and the drinks were just as tasty. Great service very interesting environment and vibe. Very eclectic and a great place to relax and enjoy a good meal with friends or even a date. I highly recommend this restaurant. The owner actually came over to the table to introduce himself as he had never seen us there before. Very welcoming restaurant and even the other stuff members that were not servicing our table made sure that they spoke to us as we left. Again, I highly recommend this restaurant for a great time out for a bite and cocktails.

My husband grew up in the area and we were in town and he said we had to stop here. The guacamole dip is like nothing I’ve ever had before. Steaks were spot on perfect. So delicious and such a unique spot. Everything was amazing. Except the bathrooms..

It’s been about 20 years since we’ve been here. The food was pretty decent. I had the enchiladas and my husband had the pork chops. I preferred my husband’s chops over my food. I’ll get it the next time I come.

Been eating here for 40 years. Get the same thing every time. Always good. Love the salsa. Actually kinda pricey for being a hole in the wall since the revamp (that’s a good kind of hole). Service may not always be great, but they at least try. I think they have a high turnover on servers since it’s never really that busy. Which is a shame cuz the food is good, big portions. Clean place. My Dad used to be an exterminator and inspected their kitchen one time and said it was super clean. He was impressed. I hope they never shut down. It’ll be a sad day in Arlington. So many memories…

I was told about this place by a friend of mine that used to live in the metroplex years ago, and now lives in Kansas City. He directed me right to it over the phone, and the food does not disappoint! All of the sauces are fantastic and I had the spaghetti and meatballs, amazing!

Absolutely loved this place!! It’s a quiet family oriented place. Very cute layout and the menu was phenomenal! It’s an interesting blend of Italian and Mexican mixed in with a little of classic American comfort food.
Never had I seen Tacos, Tamales, Guacamole on the same menu as rigatoni, chicken Parmesan, and Chicken fried steak! This place has something for anyone’s taste buds. The service was awesome and the food was delicious! Will definitely make this part of our yearly trip to see our Dallas Cowboys.
Try the chicken fried steak!

I have been going to Candlelight since I was born in the 80’s my Mom since she was a kid in the 60’s. Not sure how old the restaurant is. I have had good experiences and bad experiences here but that is with any restaurant. The waitstaff is usually very nice and the food is fresh and taste great. Only thing I do not recommend is the Guac. Cheese enchiladas are my fav and the pasta and steaks are good as well!
