This is an amazing food venue to celebrate with 13 courses from an expertly refined menu that is served with wines from around the world. This is a more than a dinner, it is an experience. We spent three hours conversing with people new to us, while being served foods that were beyond expectation. It’s lovely evening to share with loved ones and a beautiful location.

Went there for our 33rd Anniversary. Curtis greeted us at the door. Wonderful conversation and wonderful food. 13 courses, took a lot of care with my wife’s dietary restrictions. Creative and entertaining. One of the best desserts ever, lemon brulee.

Absolutely amazing! I was recently able to enjoy my second dinner with Candle in the Woods, and I can sincerely say that both times were incredible! Not only is the food delicious, but Conner, the owner, makes you feel at home in his restaurant. I also have Celiac disease, and they were able to make each dish gluten free, but the same as everyone else’s meals! For the first time, I didn’t feel left out of my dining experience. Cannot recommend enough!

He asked me if I’ve ever been to Candle in the Woods. I told him I had never been, but I’ve always wanted to. Experiencing Candle in the Woods had long been a back-burnered dream of mine. He had never been, either. He said, “I never had anyone worthy of taking there. Now I do.” That set the table for our experience at Candle in the Woods.
We were greeted outside the front door and personally invited in by Chef Connor. They served us a cocktail and led us to the back porch where other dining guests were mingling and visiting, awaiting the brunch bell. Chef Connor came outside and shared his story and the Candle in the Woods story with us. He was engaging and funny and personable, as was the entire staff.
We were served a 7-course culinary brunch experience, with each dish expertly paired with a different wine. Before each course, Chef Connor and the chefs who executed that course would speak about that dish. We all dined at one, long family table. The service was attentive, personable, and top-notch.
Foodies from all over have this place on their list of “someday,” “one day,” dining dreams… Kudos to Candle in the Woods, for curating a fine dining experience in North Idaho that has earned that reputation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening! The food was delicious, there was nothing I would improve except that I would remember to take pictures of ourselves and all the food which I didn’t because I was too busy concentrating on eating. It was the best dinner we have ever had in our 35 years of marriage. I hope we can go again someday soon.

This was the perfect way to celebrate the end of treatment! Connor, Echo and the rest of the staff prepared a meal that ranks in my top ten best! Portions were good, presentation was phenomenal, and the food and wine pairings exceptional! Rivaura wine was the featured wine and they could not have represented Idaho better. To have access to an evening of this caliber is worth the drive to Athol! Bravo!
