Candle bar is very well decorated and has a refined atmosphere with it’s selection of wine and unique cocktails. My wife and I stopped by late on a Friday night and enjoyed our time in the calm and quiet setting. We each only had one drink but they tasted great. Our server Stevie was very friendly and did a great job. We plan to stop by again in the future.

I got the stuffed mushrooms. They were excellent. I also got the meatballs. I asked for Parmesan but by the time I got the Parmesan the meatballs were cold and did not taste good to me. I also asked for lime for my water and got it only after I requested it several times and my friend spoke up halfway through the meal and they finally showed up. I will not return because of the lousy service. I was very disappointed. This was my birthday dinner. At least the mushrooms were good. Very cute place and nice atmosphere.

My fiancé and I went in and had an amazing time! I love the atmosphere and the pizza and gnocchi soup were SO good! The candela-tini is my favorite cocktail and my fiancés was their version of their Chilton! Such a good time and Andra was the best!!! She definitely made the experience with her amazing service! Definitely go in and see her because she will take care of you! All around a 5 star spot and experience!

Exceptional service coupled with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I had the Calabrese, four hearty squares of made in house focaccia topped with marinara, mozzarella, spicy salame and spicy pickled peppers, all covered with a house made garlic hot honey and freshly grated Parmesan. A theme of spicy and sweet was evident in the main ingredients, with the mozzarella providing a foundation of creaminess and Parmesan adding a subtle saltiness to round out the flavors. The focaccia, showcasing a textbook airy interior and crisp exterior, was an excellent vessel for this dish. Overall, the only complaint I can produce is that the amount of marinara was not enough for my personal preference, but at 14$, this is definitely a must try. 10/10 would recommend.

I thought I’d treat myself to a nice brunch today and things started off great. My “pink lady” mocktail was delicious, the atmosphere is wonderful, the service was excellent. I wanted something on the lighter side and saw they had a egg white frittata. Great! NOT. It arrived and was very fluffy, greasy and folded over – yes an omelet, not a frittata. It was oozing greasy cheese, which completely defeated the entire point of it being made from egg whites. I know what a frittata is. I make frittatas myself, I lived in Europe for 20 years and I’m a foodie who knows the difference between a frittata and an omelet. Too bad the chef obviously doesn’t. I think in the future I’ll stick to their cheese boards – which ARE good. But it would have been wonderful to have had a light, healthy frittata choice amongst all the huge, heavy brunch offerings. Oh well.

I don’t post poor reviews, but…. I have always loved this place since it opened but this most recent visit was very disappointing. We had a reservation for 7:30 and arrived a few minutes early. We were sat right away then waited 30 minutes for a waitress to stop by, despite many of the staff walking past our table numerous times. We placed our order for drinks and waited another 15 minutes for water and 2 cocktails. We ordered an appetizer which came out within 15 minutes. Placed our entree order and then waited over an hour! We ordered pasta, that should have taken minutes to cook. The restaurant was not overly busy and every table was waiting like we were. I told the waitress to bring our check for what we had and we were going to leave. Suddenly 2 of the 3 entrees came but were cold. The pasta was warm but the meatballs were cold! We complained along with everyone else, but ultimately left. Our waitress was trying but seemed to have no support from anyone there. Not one other person tried to talk to ALL the angry patrons! Very disappointed and will not go back. Candle Bar had been a place that we always visited when in Lubbock but there are many other restaurants that will now take its place.

Our visit to Candle Bar was amazing. The drinks were exceptional—especially the lychee martini. The service was fast and friendly, the environment was great, and the food was incredible. I haven’t had a flatbread I didn’t love; I highly recommend it.

I was visiting from out of town and wanted to meet with a girl friend to catch up over one cocktail and an appetizer. Host tells us that there’s a wait and that they are slammed. We say we just wanted to sit at the bar if that’s ok. He goes on to say that we could if there are seats available but kept going on about how busy they were. We said ok thanks, stepped away to think about what to do. Decided to go into this gift shop which is connected to the restaurant. The ladies in there were following us into every room, watching us so close as if we were going to steal. They had some cute stuff but it was so uncomfortable and weird that I just wanted to get out. We walked out and noticed two seats at the bar available so went to sit down. The bartender saw us and ignored us for about 30 min. The host kept walking by and we could tell he was mad we sat down. I was on the corner and he kept bumping me as he would walk by. His arm would brush my hair every time that I had to lean foward to avoid that. The body language and tension was instense. If you don’t want people sitting at the bar then just remove the chairs. It’s that easy. Bartender gave us water and slid a menu at us. We already knew what appetizer and drink we each wanted having looked the menu up but never gave us a chance to order. Then an older couple sat down and we watched them get acknowledged and served right away. That’s when we really felt the disrespect. We are very patient people and had so much to talk about that we would be fine waiting any amount of time, as long as you acknowledge us and tell us “hi I’ll be right with you.” Basic customer service goes a long way. We waited another 30 min then finally got asked what we want to drink. He never gave us a chance to order food so we had our drink and left to go eat at home. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had.
