This place is disgusting despite its neat appearance. The food is really bad and I tried eating here three times. Reference the photos. They use low quality meat; the beef was greasy and had gristle in it. The chicken is thigh meat, it’s gross, and they do this to save money. This dark meat is inferior to the chicken breast that you should find at this price level.
I also ordered chips and guacamole. They mixed watery pico de gallo in it (what?!) and this resulted into some inedible mystery concoction which threw into the garbage. Rice bowl had over cooked nasty rice in it.
The chips were stale and greasy. Service is slow and the prices are exorbitant. Just like every place in Oakland airport,
Cancun is not worth your money, it’s overpriced and border line repulsive delivered slowly by a care-less staff. You’d be better off going hungry then giving these guys your money.

God is Amazing. We stopped here waiting for a connecting flight, and what a great choice we made. The food packs a punch with delicious, authentic flavors. The fried/dorado shell al pastor tacos I had were in line with the best tacos I’ve tasted. Stop here to have some delicious food.

So weird. The bartender Matthew rang up my beer for $15. When I casually pointed out that the menu said it was $14 he got really aggressive and told me no one’s ever acted this way, threatened not to serve me and then just walked away. I was dumbfounded and standing by there register when he came back and grumbled at me “you want it or not.” I was just stunned and said “I didn’t say anything disrespectful”. He repeated you want it or not” and that was it. Maybe he had a bad day, but that’s no excuse.

The bride and I had carne asada burritos with no rice. They were outstanding! They didn’t cheap out on the meat because of the lack of rice. This will be my go to when flying out of Oakland in the future.

Capitalism may not be dead everywhere, but it’s certainly on life support here. I couldn’t believe it when I ordered a side of beans and they arrived crammed into a tiny salsa container, as if basic presentation and portion size were foreign concepts. The staff were openly rude, the restaurant itself was filthy—food scattered across nearly every table—and the beans tasted like someone had knocked over the salt shaker straight into the pot. If this place had to survive on the open market, it wouldn’t last a week on the street.

When did airport food become actually delicious?
Got some breakfast tacos that were so fresh and tasty. I would order this meal outside of the airport. I’m actually shocked. No, I don’t work for the restaurant. Wow. Sure, it’s pricey for what it is, but that’s par for the course. Once you get past the price point, this was too damn good for the airport. We’ve come a long way. Well done. Bravo.

I walked the whole airport looking for the best place to eat and so glad I found Cancun Sabor Mexicana near Gate 9. It’s worth walking from wherever if you want a good quality, like home-made meal in a quiet atmosphere. Very happy with my breakfast and the friendly helpful service here.

Bowls were good but was insanely over priced, 3 stars for pricing.

Pretty decent food for an airport. We shared the shrimp burrito. It was fresh and had well balanced ingredients and spices. All of the three salsas are delicious.

Food was below mid and overpriced.
Asked specifically what was in the veggie burrito. “Yellow squash, green squash, green peppers, red peppers, carrots, and onion on top of rice beans guacamole etc.” was how the burrito was described to me.
Received a beans and rice burrito with lettuce. Unless the veggies were puréed into a slop that mixed with the soggy bean juice. This burrito had none of what was described. Will never spend money here again and suggest you don’t either. Ownership needs to up their game and quality control.
