⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Disgusting and Unacceptable
I had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life here. I ordered food and while eating it, I found chewed gum inside my meal. That is beyond disgusting and completely unacceptable. This is a serious hygiene and safety issue.
I immediately went back to the restaurant to report it and ask for a refund or at least speak with a manager. Instead of helping, the staff refused to take responsibility, showed no concern, and did nothing to fix the situation. There was no apology, no refund, and no manager willing to address the issue.
Finding someone’s used gum in food is revolting and shows a total lack of cleanliness and professionalism. The way they handled the situation afterward was just as bad. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will never return. Save your money and your health—stay far away from this restaurant

Who Knew! The best and biggest raw oysters in East Tennessee are found at this excellent Mexican restaurant located just off I 40 in Newport TN. Just a short trip from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. After traveling miles to bigger cities in search of some good oysters we found that they were located in our own back yard. The Mexican food is just as amazing! We watched the owners, Guadalupe and Pedro, going back and forth to the kitchen checking each plate that came out for perfection. Our waitress Josseline was exceptional, always with a smile on her face making sure our dinning experience was the best. We like certain additions to our oysters like horse radish, lemon and tobasco sauce which we always bring with us. Come and enjoy!! Wow the shrimp cocktail is like none other I have ever had!! Wow!!

Keep going back here because the food is reliably tastey, good prices (average price, not too expensive), and the staff are AMAZING and always super friendly. I get treated like a guest who matters. Keep up the great work Cancun Mexican Restaurant!

1. Truck parking available after 8pm.

I ate here 2 days in a row. The food is flavorful and authentic. The people are friendly and welcoming. I recommend the Pollo Huasteco and Spinach enchiladas. Very generous portions. If you’re looking for good Mexican food, Newport, TN, here it is!! Semi Truck parking is available at Mapco. Truckers show your support, Eat something good!!

3 truck stops with parking nearby with the friendliest and professional drivers you’ll ever meet. A must visit and feast kind of place whenever you’re in the area. Excellent service with excellent food, pleasant music, with a clean and quaint ambiance type of place you’ll not find in too many places out on the countryside. Definitely Not your hyped up, franchised, city restaurant but an authentic hole-in-the-wall food venue with reasonable prices.

Wow this place is awesome! After living in Texas for over 20 years it’s hard for me to find a good Mexican restaurant but this one is tops in my book outside of Texas. Our server Kassandra was the best. She was very friendly and you could tell she loves her job. She made sure to come by and check on us regularly and make small talk, I loved it. I don’t usually like white cheese dip but theirs was really good. The food was great and plentiful. We asked for a to go box and she even wrote a small thank you note on top of the box. Next time we are out this way will be definitely stopping in here again. If you stop in here be sure to ask for Kassandra.
