They have the best beef on weck in wester NY. I have tried many other places and they are the best hands down. They also have the best seafood bisque I have ever had on Fridays and Saturdays. Staff and patrons are also great.

Phenomenal. And they are always so nice to you. I have been eating here for a long time and I left town for awhile I’m so glad to come back and it’s the same as all the years ago I first found this place. Love it here. I always come for a beef on weck and leave happy and full.

I arrived in town from Illinois loking forward to Beef on weck. So off to canalside. The beef on weck was cold, almost like it was taken out of refrigerator. One order was suppose to have onion rings, guess what, no onion rings. Also, while I was waiting for my order, I was not asked if I wanted a drink. I see all the reviews for canalside and unfortunately I can’t recommend them.

Food and service was horrible. Was met at the door by the cook smoking a cigarette outside stating that my food was almost ready. It was brought out to me 15 minutes late. Roast Beef sandwiches were cold, no juice provided to help warm them up. Side order was left off one of the orders, fries and clam strips were over cooked, produce on chicken sandwich was not fresh. Our last visit here was amazing so we were so excited to enjoy a great meal. Highly disappointed and will not be returning. $80 mistake!
