This Cuban-style restaurant is a must-visit. The food is full of authentic flavor, rich, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Every dish tastes like tradition with a modern touch, and the portions are generous.
The atmosphere is vibrant and full of Cuban soul, perfect for enjoying great food, music, and good company. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
If you’re looking for real Cuban flavors in the heart of Miami, this place is definitely worth it. I’ll absolutely be back!
A ‘$40 per person’ dinner ended up being nearly $200. It was nowhere near worth the cost. The cost of a single dinner was literally an entire week of groceries if not more. The server was nice, but this place rubbed us entirely the wrong way and we won’t be back. Overall, it’s decent food if you’ve got endless cash to blow… but if you chose this venue for the deceptively low pricing they advertise, stay far away. It’s a bait and switch.
Atmosphere. There isn’t any. Its on the 2nd floor of a hotel, and it feels like a hotel bar.
Service was great. They checked on us frequently, refilled our water and fixed the temp of our meal when it came incorrectly.
Food. The pork shank, recommended by our server, was right on the money. The steak, was tasty but expensive for what it was. A thin piece of ribeye. The mushroom sauce that accompanied the steak was very good (requested to be placed on the side – if only it didn’t have a layor of oil). Overall, it was a good meal better than okay but not worth the 4 stars. We won’t be rushing to go there again anytime soon. On a side note, outdoor seating is a balcony area.
1) Mofongo (yucca + really tender octopus; highly recommend)
2) plantain tostadas w/ pork (good flavors but I think it could be improved w/ more sauce since it was a bit on the drier side)
3) custom side of kale (with evoo I think, for those of us who want a side of healthy greens ^__^)
4) flan (BEST I ever had in my life!!!)
5) tre leches (not bad, but felt it was dominated by the ratio of whip cream taste wise, despite being visually appealing)
6) passionfruit capirinha (bartender was absolutely lovely & nailed it! Even kindly adjusted/upped the sweetness as I like it)
To be honest, I was having a bit of a rough evening/day – but food here definitely warmed my soul and the staff + bartender are super kind in sharing their recs. Would highly recommend Caña for a low-key but soul-warming Cuban food!
I also tried the avocado toast, which had a nice mild flavor. The smoothies were good as well, between the tropical greens and berry banana, I think I slightly prefer the berry banana, but they’re quite different flavors that I both enjoy and would have on different occasions.
The service was pretty slow on the first day where I went close to the end of breakfast hours, but was quick on the other days where I went a bit earlier.
