Hubby waited for his burrito Saturday night for an HOUR. Granted it was Saturday night in a packed environment, his bad. But this morning, when most campers were leaving, we (4 of us) walked over for breakfast. There were some at 5he bar seated, and couples interspersed at different tables, but by far not crowded. Us 2 couples each ordered our meals. We were in front of our friends. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, and hubs ordered a Arizona breakfast. Our friends ordered a burrito to share. They got theirs a full half hour before we got ours. I finally had to go up and ask, and told we were next. 15 min later we still had not gotten ours. Our friend WENT UP AND ASKED and was told they were working on ours. My breakfast sandwich was hot, with most of the cheese not melted, so I had to wrap he foil around to try and melt it. But our meal came a full 45 min later than our friends who were behind us in ordering. BS!!!
Besides paying for the overpriced cocktail!!! Too bad because I really liked this place.
That’s the perfect description for the Cantina at Campland by the bay. The food is the absolute definition of “mediocre.” Just very basic and average and “not bad” in every respect. But when you come in from a long day out on the water, doing water sports, and you’re absolutely starving, it’s one of the best double cheeseburgers you’ve ever eaten. LOL.
The prices of course are above average, and the wait time is longer than you would expect. On par with a very fancy restaurant. Be prepared to order your food and wait about 45 minutes before it served.
All that to say, if you’re not hungry, there’s definitely nothing special about the cantina. But when you are hungry, it’s heaven. Don’t order the pizza. Tastes terrible
Prices are a bit steep, if you want a burger and a beer it’ll set you back $25-$30 but you pay for the convenience of not having to cook at camp. Wish they had sliders or hot dogs or cheaper options.
When we got here all the bar employees spoke out and helped us explaining what seating was open and the menu available.
Breakfast taste was ok and portions was above avg. The drinks are well made with great pours and flavors.
Overall cool spot and will definitely be back in future visits.
You are on vacation and the people are great!
