Sometimes on a long journey, all you want is a comforting, homey meal — and Campestre delivered exactly that. We shared a hearty caldo de pollo and sizzling shrimp fajitas, and wrapped things up with a caramel lava dessert that hit all the sweet notes and then some. Just what our travel-tired hearts needed.
The restaurant is surprisingly large, comfortable, and welcoming. No wait, plenty of space, and a nice patio to stretch out and relax. Service was friendly, attentive, and easygoing — the kind that makes you feel right at home.
Nothing fancy, just good food, warm service, and cozy vibes. Sometimes that’s all you need. ✨

I ordered two Fajitas Texanas with no sides, no vegetables, nothing but the meat. I even repeated it to make sure there was no confusion.
What came out was a plate full of vegetables with just a little meat mixed in. It felt like they heard the exact opposite of what I said. The photos below were taken after I picked out the meat, so imagine how much there was before.
$50 for what? I eat out rarely and usually tip 1-3x the bill, but this time I left 10% because that is about how much attention my order received. This is the second time this has happened.

The food here is excellent! My FIL is from NJ where they get fresh seafood, and he commented that they cooked the shrimp better than many places back home. Service was prompt, but once our food was out it practically ceased until we asked for the bill. My shredded chicken quesadilla was one of the best I’ve ever had, and everyone said their meals were delicious.

The food is edible, the staff was mostly smiles, and the restaurant is beautiful. However, my take out order was cold by the time I got it. It was scheduled for pickup at 7:28PM. I walked in the front door at 7:25 and they had me stand and wait until they sent me back out the door at 7:32 and told me to go through the drive through instead. (Which was not listed ANYWHERE that this was required on the online order and they refused to bring it to the front door.) I still had to wait an additional ten minutes while they figured out where my food was. My food itself was cold by the time I got it at 7:42 and lacked flavor. The birria tacos were soggy and the cheese had already re-solidified, the consommé was barely more than beef broth, they left the corn on the cob for the elote despite the picture showing a cup of corn, the “hot” salsa was all heat and no flavor, the mild salsa tasted only like blended tomatoes, and I don’t even wanna know what the white salsa was. The saving grace was the horchata. If I would have known the experience would be like that, I would have gone to Taco Bell. At least the food would have been warm.

I have been coming to Campestre for 5+ years and tonight was disappointing. I ordered through the drive thru. The dinner#8 and it was ready within 2 minutes of my request. I was told it was quick and a easy meal. I knew better. I ate some rice and beans, and some of chicken enchilada. I threw it away because it had a funny taste to it. So it was either, already prepared and heated up or just slapped something in there. I have known most of the workers in there for quite some time. I have always enjoyed going to campestre but I felt paying $16+ for this. I couldv’e went to taco bell if I wanted fast food and low quality. I deserve fresh as if I was dining in. I guess since I am a regular customer then not a big deal. Maybe someone was having a bad night. I don’t believe I will be back for some time. Sorry!

We really really enjoyed our dinner here! Being a vegetarian, I frequently have issues trying to find something to eat. They have a nice selection of vegetarian options and I chose combo number four, which has a spinach burrito and a mushroom quesadilla along with some seasoned rice. My meal was flavorful and quite filling. My partner got the burrito Texan and he was equally as pleased with his selection. It was stuffed full of delicious ingredients and well seasoned. Camille started with a bowl of chips, with tomato salsa, and a white dipping sauce. The service was exceptional. I highly recommend stopping and enjoying this delicious restaurant.

This is our go to restaurant whenever we are passing thru WV. As a Californian, I can tell you these folks bring the flavor of Mexico all the way to Beckley. Authentic as it gets. Try the Chile Verde… among the best I ever had! The seafood dishes are also exceptional as is the staff that works there. You get the sense that they actually enjoy being employed there! Makes for a great experience!
