Definitely is not a fancy place and very unassuming but dare to be surprised by the food. It is so good and I’m confident to say competes head to head with an Austin institution: Matt’s El Rancho. The prices are definitely more reasonable than Matt’s. I got a margarita for $11- it’s good and very well balanced. I ordered a carne asada which I think was $18. It’s a thin piece of meat but it’s perfectly grilled where it’s slightly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Hubby got the grilled chicken plate, which was covered with cheesy goodness. The pico de gallo is very well-done and well-seasoned. I’m so glad because many places overlook the pico. I got an enchilada a la carte to try it out – really homemade tasting with a delicious gravy on top. One was perfect because I was pretty full after the carne asada! The chips and salsa are nice to start off the meal but wow, the salsa was quite spicy that day. I cannot wait to go back to Camino Real soon- my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

We love to eat here, have for years. But this week I found a hair in my braces after eating my enchiladas I picked up to go. I think I’m going to take some time off from eating at this establishment. The cook with dyed green hair wasn’t even wearing a hair net. I wonder about their last health inspection too.

Very good authentic Mexican food with friendly excellent service. The beef fajita enchiladas was awesome. Very tasty. The guacamole is very, very good. The best I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. Thanks

This is my wife and I’s favorite Tex-Mex place, we go before and after every vacation because it is simply the best. Cheesy goodness on the enchiladas, the gravy is perfect. The beans are fantastic. They give you tortillas with the enchilada plate and I dip them in queso and it’s amazing. The guac is always fresh & the tea is just right.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for years now for lunch and dinner, either get the cheese enchilada plate or chicken chalupas and they are always great. Only complaint is the bathroom situation. It’s not the best layout and kinda run down. I typically just don’t use it when I stop by.

This is some of the best Tex Mex in town. I love the fajitas and enchiladas. Hi however it’s all good here. I’ve liked everything I’ve ever ordered. It’s so full of flavor.
Different from some places you seat yourself when you walk in and they drop the check with the food, you pay at the register when done.

Great local mexican food restaurant. I had the Beef Quesadillas Especialidades. Very generous portion with a side of lettuce, sour cream and guacamole. Tasty. The chips and salsa were good. Salsa was a little hot but not overbearing. Definitely consider a visit if you’re in the area and craving mexican food.

This place has delicious food, comes out fast, good margaritas and fair prices. I’ve eaten at many a Mexican restaurants and some I return to, others I don’t. This one keeps me coming back. Is it the absolute best food I’ve ever had? No. But it’s high on my list, nearby, easy parking, I recommend it.
