Updated Review 11/2025- went for bacon and egg tacos and got old eggs with bacon. Luckily I had some eggs at home so I made some scrambled eggs to show you what the eggs should look like. My eggs on top of taco, the egg they gave me in my bacon and egg taco below it. I added a pic of my eggs vs the eggs they served me in my taco. Super disappointing. I will say the tortillas are homemade, or seem to be, which is hard to come by in Central TX.

Margaritas taste like lemonade. There’s no alcohol in the margs so don’t waste your money on margaritas. Food is alright. The birria tacos are delicious.

Their menu has so much to choose from that it makes deciding a challenge. However that’s fine by us. All the more reason to return. We’d have to come back every day to try something new.

It’s a festival on a plate! Food portions are generous. A large plate full is sure to cure a hunger pang. Jaritos come in nice selections and they serve Horchata in a tall glass.

Plenty of seating is easily available, even for large parties. We had a party of 7 and were seated quickly – no reservation required. Our food was also served without a long wait. The interior is invitingly colorful. They had signs on the door for entertainment. We haven’t personally partied with them, but so you know, they’ve got it.

It’s a great place , breakfast, dinner or supper. Food and staff are wonderful and prices are reasonable. They treat each customer like their the only person in the restaurant. Highly recommended them and appreciate their treatment of our family each time we go.

It truly pains me to write this review, Camino Real had been my go to Mexican restaurant for years now, but I can simply not ignore the dip in quality. The price for food is simply too high for what they are offering, for 3 tacos I spent nearly 13 dollars. On top of this the portions have been cut drastically, it feels like they only give you 75% of what they used to, that along with the price increases makes it to where I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone in good faith anymore. On top of the horrible pricing it is also notable how inconsistent they tend to be, in the years that I have been there it feels as if there is a 25% chance your food will be notably worse. There are SO MANY Mexican restaurants in Central Texas, there is absolutely no reason to come to this place. 4$ for what can almost be considered a street taco is nothing more than highway robbery…

Absolutely love this place! Very great food, friendly service, and good prices. I have been for breakfast, lunch, & dinner, not one complaint. They have the quesabirria tacos and they are amazing. Kids meals are well worth the money.

First time to visit. A very clean restaurant. Service was very speedy thanks to our server, Leslie. The food was very delicious. Has a large dining area for people to feel comfortable while they are enjoying their lunch and dinner. The cost was average, no as high as some others. Located in a mall behind Dominos pizza. They also have a Drive Thru.

So I got chorizo, egg and cheese tacos on flour. And I have to say they were pretty subpar. The chorizo didn’t really have any flavor to it, and they either use shredded American cheese or shredded cheddar cheese… My suspicion tells me it was shredded American cheese. It completely over powered the taco. I’ve never been to a Mexican restaurant that uses shredded American cheese on a breakfast taco. It just wasn’t really that good. The red salsa just tasted like tomatoes, no spice or anything. The green salsa had a little bit of kick to it… But it was also relatively bland. I am pretty disappointed with my choice to eat here.

Great food at good prices! I just had a scrumptious Cuban-style Chicken Sandwich for under $10! The drinks are delicious, too! The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff are very polite and helpful. The decor is Western.
Wonderful for lunch!

As usual, the service and food were EXCELLENT. I have been going there every morning for at least the last 2 years. Nothing has changed. Miriam Rosales is always my waitress when she is working. She is great.

Camino Real is the “Real Deal”. They serve delicious authentic mexican food for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Breakfast: try the 3 – 2 item tacos for $3.99.

Lunch/Dinner: I recommend the #32 “La Carreta” (2) enchiladas w/carne guisada, guacamole, rice, charro beans & flour tortillas.
