An elevated dinning experience in the heart of wine country that treats you like family returning home. The staff were kind and welcoming with attentive, friendly service. We wanted to taste a bit of everything and they delivered no questions asked. All of the food was spectacular and you could taste the warmth and methodical planning the chef puts into every plate. Will 100% be coming back here. Well worth the 1 hour drive outside of Portland.

A MUST VISIT!! We live in Portland and took a day trip to the Dayton area. Camino had great reviews so we planned to try it for lunch. So glad we did! AMAZING FOOD! AMAZING SERVICE! Overall great experience! Definitely make it a point to visit for authentic Mexican food that’s somehow even better than anything else we’ve had fresh ingredients, unexpected culinary details (the arugula! the mushrooms! the coffee!). Just go. You will be happy you did.

This is a true gem of a place. Brand new in Dayton. But, their cuisine reflects many years of experience. The flavors are intricately beautiful.
The Huevos rancheros was the best I have had. Layers of flavor in each bite. The breakfast burrito was wonderful, full of egg, potato, meat; well seasoned.
We finished off with their flan, which was complimentary today, it was superb!!

Another reviewer called this “An elevated dining experience in the heart of wine country”. 100% true if food is not part of that calculation. If you’re on a wine tour and you want something pretty, palatable, and unlikely to challenge your bowels, Camino has you covered. If you expect Mexican food, it does not. I understand what they’re going for and the execution is top-notch. They’re very specifically catering to the tastes of folks who have the blandest of palates. If this describes you, go for it.

I moved to Portland 7/8 years ago from Cali and even tho I’m not picky with food I always say that Mexican food in Portland sucks ! There’s are some decent places where you can get tacos but nothing out of the ordinary till I got to this place !

So it was a bit of a drive (almost an hour and 10 minutes ) from Portland but I can assure you this place it’s legit !! I heard about this place from a friend and it didn’t disappoint!!

Once you come in someone greeted us and offered a table and they handed the menus right away.

We had chilaquiles , enfrijoladas, torta de cochinita, huevos rancheros , ceviche and flan, the wait wasn’t bad at all and you can tell they make everything fresh and from scratch! I would
Say my fave was the huevos rancheros and OMG that cafe the olla hit the spot .

This place took me back in time with that homemade flavor like on a Sunday morning my mom used to to make me breakfast when I was little , the place it’s cozy and you can tell the chef puts a lot of effort and love on what he does.

Presentation of the plate it’s top notch and paired with those flavors this is a place like no other around here .

Of course I will be back sadly I can make it only on weekends because it’s hard for me during the week but no doubt it’s really worth the drive .

I highly recommend to take a little day trip and go try this wonderful restaurant!!

I have to go back to try other things from the menu

Before I forget I want to Mention that the service it’s also top notch they were asking if we needed anything and always checking on us.

This is the place for Mexican food! No doubt!!

We accidently discovered Camino and boy, are we glad we did! We were the only ones there for brunch on a Saturday. The owner, Francisco, seated us and offered to answer any questions we had about the menu.
We love authentic Mexican food and there were true items on the menu.
I had huevos rancheros and my partner the asada breakfast. Plus some spicy sauce on the side.
Oh, my. The flavor was well developed, layered, authentic and left my taste buds happy!
Francisco shared he also does catering and private chef. We hope the restaurant does well so we can come back again! Great job and thank you.

The company Had a big wedding to cater, then fun in the park, knew a local and they let us eat while preparing for the wedding. Only US in the place. Great people and even better food. Beans were wonderfully flavored and all the food was above and beyond delicious!!

If you’re in the mood for something more than your typical American Mexican spot, Camino is where you want to be. This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a labor of love shared by two dedicated locals who pour heart and soul into every plate.

Fresh, home-cooked flavors: Each bite reminds you of meals made with care at home. The ingredients are bright, vibrant, and thoughtfully sourced, making every dish taste like a hug from the kitchen.

This place takes its time, and you’ll feel the care in every course. It’s not a fast-food pit stop; it’s a culinary journey that rewards patience with exceptional flavors and thoughtful presentation.

Cafe Ole coffee: A must-try. Rich, comforting, and perfectly balanced to kick off or end your meal with a smile.

Homemade chips and salsa: Crunchy, fresh, and addictive. The salsa has just the right kick—bright, lively, and entirely crave-worthy.

Mole that sings: Deep, complex, and deeply satisfying. A testament to the kitchen’s skill and dedication to traditional technique with a personal twist.

If you’re seeking a dining experience that feels like a love letter to home-style Mexican cooking, Camino delivers in spades. Five stars all the way—the kind of place you tell friends about and plan your next visit to return to again and again and the prices are fair!

Hands down the best food we have had in the Willamette Valley. Stopped on our way to Salem and were blown away by the service, quality and deliciousness of the meal, and the wonderful setting. The crown jewel is the spiced coffee. You should come to Dayton just to experience this restaurant. It is definitely worth it. We will be back.
