Got the fried seafood combo the fries and shrimp were old and cold. Never got refill on drinks and they weren’t that busy. The grilled fish and shrimp with seafood potato was very good and the hush puppies are awesome

I love New Orleans y’all, but honestly the best food is often found “out in da parishes” as we say. This gem is hidden in West Baton Rouge Parish. Camille’s, tho she’s got a rose growing out front. Working man’s cafe, stick to your ribs food. Red beans, so soft they turn to gravy like they’re supposed to do. Seafood gumbo, made from real roux and crammed with crab and shrimp. And to go with it delicious made from scratch tater salad. The crab and shrimp au gratin is a huge hit. Makes NOLA jealous. Fried seafood platters, giant po’ boys, huge salads, amazing steaks & burgers, you name it they have it. All served with a smile by a sweet lady named Pam. If you’re in the area stop by, you won’t regret it. If you’re in Baton Rouge. Head west over the old Miss River bridge (Hwy 190), you’ll be there in about ten minutes. It’s worth the drive.

My husband & I drove here from Baton Rouge, LA for my birthday weekend! When we walked in all eyes were on us as if we made a wrong turn. The waitress came & took our drink order. Then another waitress came to ask what else besides the Budweiser bc the other lady forgot what drink I ordered. She brought the drinks back maybe 5-6 minutes later. Then about 10-12 minutes later she came & took our order. I ordered the crawfish poboy while my husband ordered the fish poboy. We waited over a hour & nothing came out. So finally my husband approached the waitress as I was leaving out the restaurant asking her why was it taking so long?!? She goes to ask the cook & my husband said he overheard the cook say he couldn’t make something that was never put in to be cooked. That’s freaking ridiculous!!! I can see if they were super busy. It was ppl in there but it wasn’t that busy. If you’re African American stay away from this place. They won’t ever have to worry about me returning. I’ve NEVER experienced anything like this before. What a waste of our time & gas!!!!!

Food was great. Our waitress was very nice. All the ladies were very sweet. Took awhile to get to the table though. Got our food an hour after sitting down. It was busy and a Friday night, but it took forever to get our things. The appetizer came out after everything else and I never got my salad. So just plan on it taking a while and maybe have a snack before you come for dinner.
Pictured are the 4lb boiled crawfish ($30), seafood pasta ($20), and the hushpuppies with a sweet butter ($4).

This place was something I was looking for! I wanted authentic Cajun food and I got it here. The place is clean, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious!!! I have saved this restaurant to come back to when I’m in the area. If you drive a truck they have a nice sized lot that’s easy to pull in and out of. Just don’t trash the place. I had a seafood loaded baked potato, boiled shrimp, alligator balls, and a slice of pecan pie and everything was excellent! They know how to season food and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommend you stopping by and trying it out!!!

Excellent food and service! We are from Texas, spent the weekend in Baton Rouge and stopped here on the way home, had the savvy burger and hamburger steak… hands down best meal of the entire trip! Great hospitality and down home atmosphere made the entire experience fantastic! You won’t be disappointed, and the prices are very fair! The iced tea is great too!

The food is piping hot when you get it and it almost burned my mouth. That’s how food should be served. Fried seafood combo included fish, shrimp (from Louisiana), oysters (from Louisiana), and crab claws. All cooked very well. I think the oysters could have been cooked a little longer though but they had great taste.

McKenna was really good on expressing her ideas about the menu even though she doesn’t like oysters. I like a candid server who can speak their mind. She sold me on the Milky Way pie that was extremely good. You got to have it.

This was overall a great experience and when I come back through here again I’ll try something new.

Service is slow. Our super nice lady server was the only one serving all the tables. She was running all over the place.

Food is ok. The seafood Gumbo is basically “shrimp gumbo”. The side salad was not truly fresh, and it had only lettuce and cherry tomatoes.
The alligator balls were very good. We could actually see the meat inside.

Food looked clean and well cooked. Prices are on the high side.
