I visited the store on 11/02 to make a small purchase. The main item I needed cost only $1, but I was told that card payments were only accepted for purchases of $10 or more. To meet the minimum, I added several extra items I didn’t really need.
Just as I was ready to pay, the cashier mentioned that the card machine was not working and that I would have to pay using Zelle instead. While saving the name on Bank of America, I got momentarily distracted and thought the payment had gone through. When the cashier asked if I had sent it, I initially said yes but immediately realized I had only saved the contact and hadn’t sent the money yet. I clarified and sent the payment right away.
Despite my honesty, the cashier reacted harshly, as though I was trying to skip out on paying. The situation was made more uncomfortable by his aggressive tone and strong body odor, which forced me to rush and probably contributed to my distraction.
I’m a decent person. That’s why it hurts so much when people like that cashier try to insinuate otherwise. It’s painful to be misjudged and have someone assume the worst. People today seem so angry, quick to judge, and ready to attack without giving others the benefit of the doubt.
I hope the store can encourage its staff to show more patience, professionalism, and basic courtesy toward customers. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, especially when misunderstandings happen.
I usually shop at the African stores in Arlington and have been doing so for years. I recently moved to Euless and only needed one item, so I decided to stop by this store instead of making the drive to Arlington. From now on, I would rather make the drive to Arlington than give my business to people who treated me this way.
Proper personal hygiene is also important because this is a food store and cleanliness matters. I was literally holding my breath and just trying to get out of there.
Edit: I had just finished cooking with one of the item when I noticed the expiration date:
PD: 06/08/2022
BB: 05/08/2024.

Instead of being defensive or dismissive, it would benefit you and your business to use customer reviews as an opportunity for improvement. You labeled the last customer who left a negative review as an “attention seeker,” and described me as “hard to please.” My experience was unacceptable. No decent person would take it lightly if they were treated the way I was. I strongly advise that you provide better staff training and inspect your store for expired products. I just cooked an entire meal only to realize that the Ehuru I bought from your store expired last year.
By the way, most of my reviews on Google are positive.
I really would recommend this location to anyone.
Nice people!!!
Here, you will find a variety of African foods even some Asian products I also love the snacks and also the sweet authentic Palm wine!!
Nice neighborhood store right next to a gas station and CVS.
