We ordered delivery through the Augusta delivery app. It took them a little under an hour to deliver the food. We ordered ox tails, a bowl of shrimp low country boil, and jerk chicken plates. Overall the food was fairly substandard and the rice was hard and unevenly cooked. The shrimp gumbo could be ordered from a more local place like Juicy Crab for less. And the jerk chicken had an ok flavor, but everything else that came with it suffered or just wasn’t that great. Would probably not go out of our way to order here again.

This was amazing soul food, southern cooking! It is a small place…older building but extremely clean. You can even see thru glass to see the food cooking and the kitchen where it is prepared. Staff and Calvin were so warm and friendly. Prices are soooo reasonable for the amount of food you get. It was a place I would frequent if I lived here. Thank you Calvin and Josita. Best meatloaf I ever had.

My family felt LOVED with the delicious home cooked meal we were served. The fried fish was the best that I can remember. We’re still talking about the crunchy coating and the tender fish! Yum!! My 2 year old granddaughter actually cried for more Mac and cheese which Calvin graciously provided for her. My 8 year old granddaughter loved her meatloaf dinner and never spoke a word until it was GONE!! My husband had oxtails which he cleaned like a surgeon! We give Calvin’s 8 thumbs up!!!

The restaurant is very clean and cozy. I was able to meet Calvin himself who waited on me personally. The food was really good the collard greens even though I ate them could have been better they almost tasted like glory greens everything else perfect I actually had the sawlsberry steak and gravy with rice fried green tomatoes And I also had a side of okra in tomato.

This is by far the worst restaurant I ever encountered. Friendly customer service but the environment and food is absolutely horrible I do not recommend anyone to eat here. Chicken is tasteless, salty and or chewy. I order a hamburger with no cheese i still get cheese on it. Then the burger either be too dry or still raw in the middle. Employees and management arguing back and forth in front of guest about cleanliness of the restaurant I overheard about pipes having black mold on it. The manager picking up food off the floor and still selling it. Dishwasher cross Contaminating cups and plates. And the smell in this place in unbareable!

Delicious food at decent prices. Go there for comfort food. I have never eaten something I didn’t like. I find their cabbage so delicious, with a perfect balance … not too crisp, not too soft. The ambience is not what it once was. That’s the only reason it’s not a 5.

I didn’t eat here. I’m with postmates and I had a pickup order. Instructions were check in when you arrive and the owner would bring the food out when ready. When I got there the check in screen came up and again it told me to wait and the owner would bring it out when ready. I waited and waited and waited, actually lost track of time. Then my customer contacted me said what’s going on? It had been over a half hour. So I called and she said come in it’s ready. So I went in and she said why didn’t you check in? I said I did and a kid behind the counter said oh that’s why the phone kept ringing. So I’m sure the food is good but plenty of places have good food. If you don’t know how to operate a business you will not be successful.

1ST time eating here, it was ok overall. I placed a phone order, she didn’t repeat the order or take my name. I was concerned that I wouldn’t be right because of their background noise, but it was right. I ordered oxtails, collards, mac n cheese and yams. The oxtails were great, nice taste & tender, cooked my own rice. Wasn’t aware that it didn’t come with it. The greens are cooked with sugar, dont like that. The yams were good too. Didn’t like the mac n cheese at all,bad texture & cheese.
