One of my Yelp friends (shoutout to Earnest) actually recommended me to check out Caluda’s for their king cakes, and man was he on point with his recommendation! I got their medium sized Cream Cheese King Cake ($27.95) for my family and a slice for myself ($5.95). The texture was really soft. The flavor consisted of subtle hints of cinnamon and lemon which I really liked. The cream cheese just added more zest to the king cake flavor. I actually got there 30 minutes early before they opened at 7 am, and there was already a line; hence, this was on a normal Wednesday too! The service was nice, quick, and patient. The owner actually thanked all of us in person for waiting in line which was nice of him to do. The inside was a bit small, but it’s mostly a pick up area instead of a dining place so that’s understandable. I haven’t tried Manny Randazzos yet, but as of right now Caluda’s is my #1 recommended king cake spot!

I tried to order my king cakefor delivery before I left New Orleans and the places people told me to order from were closed for deliveries. So since I had never had a long cake, I figured I couldn’t lose so I tried Caluda’s.
Not sure what to expect since it was being delivered from NOLA. Caluda’s kept me informed of my order status. I was impressed that everything was separated. King cake, frosting, sprinkles, beads/baby/cup. Easy to follow directions to frost the cake. The cake felt and taste like it had just been baked that day. So moist and fluffy, ienjoyed some without frosting and it was good. The frosting was the cherry on top. I mean I’m mad I only ordered 3 cakes!

We ordered a king cake through Goldbelly delivery. When it arrived, the purple sprinkle packet was open and empty. That was not the worst, there was also a large piece of a bug in the icing packet which we found as we were applying the icing to the cake. When I contacted caluda’s about the unsanitary food items, they responded that I should contact Goldbelly. I don’t think Goldbelly packs the cakes nor do they package the icing. Very poor and disgusting service.

I moved away from LA last year and my family and I were missing the Mardi Gras season. So I decided to order two King Cakes to be shipped to Michigan. Most of the popular bakeries had long wait lists, but Caluda had availability. They even had the option to schedule the delivery in advance to arrive on a particular day.
So I ordered (2/2) and scheduled the delivery on Lundi Gras (2/17). I paid and received an email confirmation. On the Friday before (2/14) I received an automated email from saying “Your Caluda’s King Cake order has shipped!” Woohoo!
So far so good, but the package never made it to Fedex. I watched the tracking for the next few days but the status never changed. Still “Label Created”. On Lundi Gras there was no delivery. I called Caluda’s – no answer. Mardi Gras – no delivery. On Ash Wednesday I sent them an email. The following day I got a reply saying that “Fedex must have lost it” What a waste of my time and effort and dissapointed children who didn’t get King Cake.
To their credit they did refund my payment promptly, hence the two stars instead of one.

One of my friends sent me this king cake with praline filling via FedEx, and it is amazingly delicious! I live in Arizona now and they don’t have/sell king cakes here unless I make it myself but even the one that I make doesn’t taste this good. This king cake is definitely the BEST king cake that I have ever had, and I was born and raised in Louisiana so that’s saying a lot! Order a king cake from here and you will not regret it! Everything was packaged separately which I didn’t mind at all. Everything tasted fresh, even the pastry tasted fresh. There were no detectable signs of tasting stale at all!

Ordered my King Cake on 04Feb2026 with a delivery date of 16Feb2026 – in time for Mardi Gras. I never received the King Cake. On 14Feb2026, I was charged for it and received notification that it “shippped” but when I go to Fed Ex site, it just says that the label was created. I have reached out to company – 2x called and the numbers state that they are closed for the season. Sent an email and a contact form online and still no response. Disappointed to say the least. I have ordered through them before with no issues and wanted to do repeat business.

I have been eating kingcakes for about 60 years and Caluda’s kingcake is one of the best in Louisiana. It was fresh and moist. It had just enough sugar glaze. I really enjoyed it.
