Ok 5 months after the first visit. Let me say if y’all haven’t made a trip rethink your evening choices! Caltex is in another league. Check the out the picture; pulled pork, jap cheddar sausage, and the brisket. Good luck surrounding bossier/shreveport.

Legit BBQ right here in Shreveport. The brisket is fantastic with great flavor and texture. But that jalepeno sausage is the best I’ve ever had! Everything was wonderful, guys. The sides are all great. And the banana pudding was . Their new venue is inside Great Raft Brewing and will be a game changer for the local bbq community.

You can never go wrong any choice you make from the CalTex barbecue menu. My favorites are the elote en vaso and brisket. These guys do an amazing job of combining their talents to create delish and beautifully plated food. You can definitely see the dedication and passion that go into each and every one of their cooks.

There was very little brisket on the tiny, expensive tacos, and the meat had very little flavor, even smokiness. Their corn dish, however, was inspired and delicious, even for someone who is not a big corn fan. If I go back, I’ll just get sides.

Very good, high quality food. There’s really no better way to put it. You can tell when BBQ is lacking in any way and these guys lack in no way, shape or form. You eat, you’re full, you feel good and the flavors are impeccable. Definitely give these guys a shot.
