First time at Callie’s cafe, definitely not the last! The pancake was huge and so delicious. Sausage is fresh and one of the best I’ve ever had! Their hashbrowns were perfectly between crispy and softer! Such a great breakfast experience!

UPDATE: Since my initial review, the lights have been dusted and the fake juice machine appears to have been retired.

Good not great. This is a relic hanging in there, and I’m here for it. The service is relaxed and responsive, but not intrusive. Don’t come here expecting big smiles and that Utah ooey gooey bubble gum hospitality.

Do yourself a favor and don’t look up at the years of dust caked on the ceiling fan blades or light shades. Overall, the place could use a deep clean. To the server who went out to smoke and came back in, took off her jacket, and went to to food pass to start grabbing plates of food without first washing hands, saw you.

The food comes out quick, hot, and consistent from visit to visit. I wish more items were made in house like the chicken fried steak. Having confirmed that is a frozen product with the server, I also suspect the biscuits are not made from scratch in house, though I could be wrong. I really feel that any establishment, especially and old-school cafe, should serve fresh-brewed iced tea…serving it from the fake juice machine is abhorrent. To that point, the fake juice machine should be tossed out into the middle of State Street. While juice doesn’t need to be fresh pressed or squeezed, the gas station machine isn’t very appealing.

Aside from those challenges, the portions are big and there is value as a result. I’ll definitely return but wish they would clean up a bit…a good ole dust of the fans and light fixtures.

Callie’s is a diner style restaurant with some games and TVs inside. Parking is easy since they have a large lot outside. Inside they have probably 3 dozen tables plus some bar seating and can accommodate larger groups quickly. Their menu isn’t too big, and prices per portion are a bit high for what you get. Their breakfasts are pretty good, although they’re a tad bit small. Hash browns weren’t as crispy as I’d hoped, half a grape and two banana slices on the kids pancakes, and too much gravy were just some callouts. Chicken fried steak was good, and their sausage is delicious. The staff here were friendly and quick on everything. Overall a decent brunch spot.

We got the cake Hi, Biscuit Hi, and the Garbage omelet. Food was spectacular. Sausage was really yummy, the sunny side up eggs were perfect, hash browns were plentiful, and the service was great. The biscuits were okay, not the best I’ve had, but the gravy was yummy.

Callie’s is really the only local place I go to for breakfast. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is fast and friendly. The killer hash browns is almost too much to eat, but they are so good. I’ve had omelettes, most of the HI options, and the Miller hash browns. It’s all excellent. I’ve never been for lunch or dinner, but I can’t imagine I’d be disappointed. I go most often when my brothers are in town for a visit, it’s a must-do on our list every time.

Felt weird walking in, like I was going into a rundown diner that was located in the middle of nowhere. Waitress seemed like they given up on life, overall vibe was very sleepy and unexciting overall.

Food came out and it looked good but when eating it was tasteless. Last time I take a recommendation from someone to come here.
