Atmosphere was absolutely great, the vibe was awesome. Service could’ve been better. Now let’s get to the worst part, the steak. Went in for Valentine’s Day and ordered the 48oz tomahawk. Presentation was great, the first bite was great, however once I cut into the center and found it cold and rare after asking for med rare, I was greatly disappointed. I personally don’t believe in refired steaks as it dries the steak out, regardless I sent it back to be cooked to med rare. Steak comes back out not much different, first photo is before the refire, second photo is after. This was an absolute waste of $105 and 48oz tomahawk, I’m not sure what chef is preparing a 48oz tomahawk without an instant thermometer but i suggest they should invest in one. It’s truly unfortunate that they’re offering a great selection of meats, with high end steak house pricing, yet they cannot cook them to temperature.

My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary, it was a wonderful date. The atmosphere was great, the service was beyond fantastic, and the food was top-notch. I had the smoked old-fashioned, the best I’ve had. My wife had the berry mule and truly enjoyed it. Loved the stuffed mushrooms, we could drink the dipping sauce it was so good. The duck is definitely worth going back for, and the steak was extremely tender, seasoned to perfection, and cooked exactly as I ordered it. Pair either of them with the sweet potato mash, and I assure you that you will leave saying you will be back. Thank you for such a wonderful evening with my wife and an amazing meal. A great meal and a good time are two things worth paying for, we got both with our visit to Callas Tavern & Restaurant.

Was able to visit Callas Tavern in mid August, right after they opened and this place instantly became one of my favorite spots in Owensboro. Food was fantastic and the place looks great too.

Got the biggest cheese sticks I have ever had, phenomenal. I went with the Black Label Burger, which was great. My buddy opted for Honey Cajun Salmon and shrimp.

Great spot for a special occasion, date night, or just hanging with a friends.

Came in last weekend with my son and had a great father son night.
Service was ridiculously great ( I believe his name was Cam, Apologies if that’s incorrect). Drinks were great. Great choice of bourbon and the steak was off the charts. Can’t wait to get back!!

In town and stopped by for dinner not really knowing what to expect. This restaurant is excellent, from the service (our server was the best we’ve had in a long time, old fashioned hospitality – rare to see in this age). The food was great and the vibe/design of the restaurant is really speakeasy like. My wife and I loved it. They are doing a great job there. Highly recommend.

Owensboro has a new 5 star restaurant! We made our reservation online and requested a booth. There were definitely people standing around wishing for that booth but the sweet hostess saved it for us. We were there Saturday night at 6, very busy. Caleb was a fantastic waiter. Very professional and apologetic for our small wait to order cocktails. No problem, the drinks came quickly and in the perfect antique glassware. Looking around I saw several different types of beautiful glasses depending on the cocktail. We both ordered a small salad before dinner. It was super fresh with homemade dressing. I ordered the steak Oscar, absolutely delicious with the sweet potato mash. The decor of this place is so warm and welcoming. They got the lighting just right? Don’t miss out on this fine dining experience.

Delightful restaurant in Owensboro. We tried the catfish which was perfectly fried crispy with fresh tartar sauce. The Mac and cheese is absolutely phenomenal. The best dish is their sweet potato mash which is basically the best dessert I’ve ever had. The cocktails are great too!

I went to Callas with my boyfriend last night and we were greeted with such an excellent service. Our waiter took the time to go over the menu with us and gave us spectacular recommendations. The food was amazing, only thing I didn’t love were the mashed potatoes, but other than that I have no complaints.
For appetizers we got the cheese sticks and the coconut shrimp, both AMAZING.
The wagyu steak was phenomenal and the red snapper was so yummy and clean.
We got the chocolate lava cake for dessert and was absolutely delicious.

A True Owensboro Gem!

The Callas in Owensboro, KY is full of rich character and vintage elegance—from the intricately carved statues flanking the bar to the framed mirrors and ornate ceiling tiles. The whole place feels like a high-end saloon where history and style shake hands.

We started with the fried onion tanglers and pepper jack cheese sticks—both were fantastic. The breading was light, crispy, and clearly made in-house. I also had a mango Tajín margarita, which was surprisingly refreshing and balanced. Later, I paired my filet with a glass of Three Hands red blend, which complemented the meal beautifully.

The filet was excellent in flavor and tenderness, though it arrived several minutes after everyone else’s entrees and was cooked more well-done than the medium-well I requested—maybe the chef has a quiet bias against well-done steaks (ha!). The mashed potatoes had a crusted top from too long under a warming lamp but still tasted great, and the asparagus was fresh and nicely done.

Big shoutout to Cylee, our waitress, who was friendly, attentive, and on top of everything from start to finish.

All in all, the food, the drinks, the service, and the ambiance came together for a fantastic night out. Despite minor timing issues with the meal, it’s an easy five stars from me. I’ll definitely be back.
