I was in the Bowling Green area and decided to go to a local western themed cafe called Call of the Canyon. Parking in Downtown is sparse so getting there was sort of a hassle. The store front had a western theme with western decals and cactuses printed on the windows. Walking in the atmosphere felt cozy and warm. The waiter greeted us enthusiastically and sat us down. The menu is inspired by western US cuisine. First I got an appetizer of chips and salsa, the chips are described to be made freshly as it’s their signature chips but the salsa appeared to be shipped in, either way it tasted good. My drink was a hot cocoa as shown to the left, the whipped cream looked very ornate and the drink itself tasted very earthy, natural, and homebrewed. My next order was the Bumble BBQ with roast beef, the bread looked fluffy and the texture was weirdly satisfying, the pepper jack cheese was a nice touch, and the roast beef tasted juicy and very savory. I would definitely recommend ordering the Bumble BBQ. My next order was the Mac & Cheese. The noodles were shell shaped with a white cheese with a layer of melted cheese on top. It was definitely good, but no pun intended, too cheesy. It’s less likely for me to order the Mac & Cheese again but if you are a Mac & cheese lover you would definitely like it. My mother ordered the daily special of chicken enchilada soup which she described as wonderful. She ordered it with the Togizoot Turkey sandwich with their signature western dressing which she described as delicious. She overall thought positively about the food served. For dessert I chose one of their daily pies, I chose peach pie. It came warm with a scoop of ice cream. I would recommend ordering from the place. It was reasonably priced, each core meal we got costed $12 for each core meal. Hot cocoa costed $3.50 and was priced reasonably. Pie was on discount for $3.50 and priced very reasonably too. Chips and salsa were a little overpriced costing $6 dollars for the platter. In total it costed $20 dollars per person, but without extras it would cost $12 dollars. I would recommend stopping by Call of the Canyon if you are ever in the area. The staff was amazing, they helped me choose multiple items to eat. The atmosphere was good and the food was amazing. Call of The Canyon easily received my review of 5 stars *****.

Amazing food. Got roast beef bbq sandwich which was amazing. I got the Mac n cheese which tasted homemade with drizzled cheese on top. Hot cocoa tasted amazing and earthy. Staff care greatly checking on us repeatedly. After that I got the peach pie which was amazing too. Vibe is south west themed bringing the atmosphere up

Food was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. The only downside was I felt like the portion size was kind of small for the price.

Nice local restaurant that’s been around for some time. We tried the grilled cheese special with soup. The chili was really good. It was meaty, hearty, and flavorful. The broccoli and cheddar was pretty thin, bland and not much cheddar. The peanut butter pie was pretty decent but very heavy. The restaurant clean, service was great.

Everything is delicious! I love the Triple Salad plate with a scoop of each tuna, chicken salad, and egg salad – all three were wonderful. The sunrise burrito is also a hit. The Call of the Canyon Cafe is one of the best lunch spots in Bowling Green!

Small place with top quality food. Menu has a variety of food including Wraps, Sandwiches, Mac & Cheese, Burritos, Tacos, Salads and other items. Remember to save room for Pie. On a busy street.

I’m giving this place 2 stars for the desserts alone! Yummy & worth coming here for. But, this place is small & if it is anywhere near crowded, avoid it or you could be waiting a LONG time for your sandwich. Either they need more help or better organization. Sandwich was tasty but…..I was super hungry when it arrived.
Should say hard to beat the price for quality.
