This California Tacos Cantina and Distillery spot is easily my go-to. I love that it’s tucked inside the SLO Public Market, and the food never disappoints. Our server was incredibly warm and made the whole visit even better. I ordered the carne asada tacos with rice, and every bite was packed with bold flavor. Their $2 Tuesday tacos are truly a steal! The patio seating also gives everything such a nice vibe. Definitely a place worth checking out!

Great experience, with awesome food and drink! The menu has a lot of good options, making it hard to choose. The $2 taco Tuesday allows one to try a lot of meat options without breaking the bank. The margaritas are really good, with a very long list of tequilas. The ceviche appetizer is much bigger than expected and is great to share or have as a meal in itself. Service was friendly and timely with filling water and checking in.

Okay this is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever had! First of all service was amazing, the waitress was so sweet and attentive really made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant (even thought it was PACKED). Second the drinks were delicious, I got the cali margarita that hit the spot after a long week. It was refreshing and had the perfect hint of tequila! Now for food… the arugula chicken salad was chiefs kiss, the mango salsa they have on top was such a nice twist! You can tell that the ingredients were fresh and everything was prepared on the spot. Overall 11/10 experience and have been recommended this spot to EVERYONE!

Great place in the SLO Public Market. It has a nice classy feel & is tastefully appointed inside. I was greeted by the wonderful owner at the door and we chatted for awhile one day.
They have a full range of Mexican foods and an expansive drink selection as well. The upscale bar takes dinning and snacking to the next level…so that one cannot even guess that one is in a complex.
If one wants a more formal sit down dinner in SLOPM, this is it.
Outside dinning is also an option as well.
It is nice to have Mexican food done right in this market.

Nice, new, airy space with a diverse menu. Guacamole is excellent to go with the chips and the excellent salsa. I went with the Tacos Quesabirria (new to the menu?), and they were excellent, meaty and messy. My partner’s Tacos del Mar were great, too, and our friend’s Chili Verde was rich and flavor-forward without too much spice. Will definitely come back to explore more of the menu.

A new and delicious restaurant part of the SLO public market development. It was mid evening on a Sunday and modestly busy. Good atmosphere and buzziness even on a Sunday. Super friendly staff and plenty of seating. The menu has a variety of mexican staples along with a focus on seafood and great drinks (our table of 4 had 3 varieties of Margarita, all superb). One of the few places I’ve found mocajete near here, even at $41 it was bursting with flavor and ingredients. While it didn’t have mushrooms or cheese like I often encounter, the shrimp and giant chorizos were a standout (plus chicken and pieces of beef fillet). Easily a portion for two it was bubbling hot, smoky and at a great heat and spice level. I also tried some bites of the Chile relleno and enchiladas (the red sauce was good but nothing special). The variety of tacos ordered by my family were all devoured and the fajitas plates are great too. For just tacos I would recommend San Luis taqueria and a handful of other spots in the region, but for the whole package definitely come check this place out. I’m sure we’ll be back again.

The food was delicious! We sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and helpful. The establishment was clean. I had a Strawberry Margarita with G4 tequila. It was perfectly made. I ordered the Chilaquiles. It came with Peruvian beans (which are my favorite), choice of meat, and two eggs on the side. My friends ordered tacos, and their tacos were made with homemade tortillas! Have to go back and try these next time because they looked delicious.

November 3, afternoon – terrible service! One person running register and waiting on ALL tables, inside and outside. Drink order – never taken, chips and salsa – promised but never delivered. Some guy at the bar somehow got his tacos and he came in after us. After sitting for 15 minutes we left. I predict they’re going out of business just like Brooks burgers did.

Chicken fajitas were bomb! They sliced up the chicken so it was more of a mix with the veggies. Serviced with rice, beans, guac and pico all on the side.
They have a lot of seafood on the menu so we got the shrimp ceviche as well. It was true to form and delicious.
Kids burrito with side of fries did not disappoint.
