We were so pleased with our experience here. My wife and I had driven by this restaurant several times and finally decided to stop in and we’re glad we did!
When we walked in, there were only a few people dining, which initially gave us pause. However, the moment we stepped inside, we were warmly greeted by the cashier, and even the cooks looked up, waved, and smiled. The restaurant was clean, with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
The menu was large and covered most of the wall, which at first seemed a bit overwhelming, but the layout and photo illustrations made it easy to navigate. I appreciated the simplicity and the visual presentation of each dish. The cashier was friendly, patient, and took the time to explain options and make thoughtful suggestions never once making us feel rushed.
We ordered a variety of items: a fish taco, pork tamale, carne asada soft tacos, ground beef crunchy tacos, and a peach shake. Everything was excellent. The carne asada tacos were flavorful and not greasy, with perfectly seasoned meat. The rice and beans complemented the meal wonderfully, and the fish taco was fresh and light not deep-fried, which was a pleasant surprise. Even the ground beef tacos, while simple, had a complex and satisfying flavor profile. The peach shake was the perfect balance of light sweet flavor and texture.
While I wasn’t brave enough to try the hot sauce this time (next visit for sure!), their homemade mild sauce had an excellent blend of flavor and spice.
Throughout our meal, we noticed a steady flow of takeout orders, and what really stood out was the work ethic of the staff. Even when there were no customers at the counter, every employee stayed busy cleaning, checking supplies, and ensuring everything was in order. No one was standing around or distracted; everyone seemed genuinely engaged in keeping the restaurant running smoothly.
Overall, this was an outstanding experience from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

Great food and fun vibe. They have some games you can play while you wait. The food came out quickly and the portions were really good. The prices were pretty normal for the times and area. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the mood and area.

My thanks to Marco and staff. I hosted my granddaughter’s baby shower there in Bellingham from my home state in Mississippi. Marco was helpful in placing my orders to cater party trays for the shower, the asada and the shredded chicken were delicious but the vegetarian tamales were a hit!! Many compliments. The trays were arranged beautifully and delivered on time. Encourage anyone wanting to cater food for a party that is a hit to use California Tocos Bellingham.

Went here to check out the Fish taco and the fish burrito. I had the Fish Burrito, which was very large and very tasty. My only criticism would be that it could have a little more fish inside. It had a lot of filling instead. It was very tasty, though. My wife had the fish taco and did not enjoy it as much. She said it needed more fish, and the flavor was just OK. She was not satisfied afterward. This place is an order at the counter and bus your own table type of place, so I did not rate it high on service. They do have a pretty large menu to choose from. I will come again to try their other offerings. If you don’t mind not having someone wait on you, it’s worth trying out for yourself.

The place is clean with lots of seating. I saw the menu on the wall with pictures of the dishes. I ordered and waited. They have a cornhole set up in the middle of the dining area which is kinda loud and annoying if your the one not playing. My buzzer went off and got my food. Decent portions, but the chicken and bean were more warm than hot, and the best thing was the rice. I won’t be going back anytime soon

I have nothing bad to say about this restaurant as every time I’ve ordered online the food is great. The only thing that is frustrating is they always forget the red and green sauce in the To-go orders. I’ve ordered them numerous times and have only gotten sauce once because I specified it in the special instructions. Even when I do specify it they never seem to send it with the food. Other than that great burrito!

We just got done driving the Alcan and we’re in need of some good fresh fruit smoothies. Mom got the peach smoothie with a shot of fresh ginger and boy, what a delicious bite it has! If you love ginger, she highly recommends this one!! I got a green smoothie and it hit the spot for cool refreshing and delicious. We’ll definitely be back next time though.

Very authentic Mexican food. We ordered the chimichanga which came with some complimentary berry lemonade. The hot sauces at the front really elevated the dish. To finish off the meal, we tried the fried ice cream which was delicious. We’re already planning to revisit the next time we’re in the area.
