We had an incredible dining experience at California Shabu Shabu! The food was a solid 5 out of 5—flavorful, filling, and customizable to your spice preference. The ingredients were fresh, and the portions were so generous that we had to take some of our delicious noodle soup home.
Our waitress was exceptional. Knowing that we had only experienced all-you-can-eat Shabu before, she went above and beyond to teach us everything we never knew. She guided us through mixing the perfect flavors for our sauces and explained the best way to cook our vegetables and meat. Thanks to her, we now know to save half the cabbage and noodles for last, gently “swish swish” our meat to keep it medium rare, and turn the remaining broth into a flavorful noodle soup. Her attentiveness and knowledge truly elevated our experience.
The spicy margarita with ghost pepper salt and pepper on the rim was a standout—I’d definitely order it again!
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for both sports fans and families. TVs were mounted for those wanting to catch a game, while multiple families enjoyed their meals in a lively yet comfortable setting.
Overall, California Shabu Shabu is a must-visit for anyone looking for a fantastic hot pot experience with top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!
I ordered the large pork belly, prime beef rib eye, Atlantic salmon with Sukiyaki broth. The beef and pork belly were excellent along with the salmon being the surprise for me(don’t overcook it and it’s amazing). For dessert I had the red bean ice cream twice and the sesame seed version. I had the red bean twice because it was that great.
I’d definitely come back again to try their other meats and their customer service is solid! Also some of the workers had amazing watches too!
Food was delicious as well. Didn’t expect to walk out of here full, but man I got a major food coma after eating (rice is AYCE btw).
Ordering requires each person to order their own meat plate, since everyone gets there own pot and veggies/noodles. We tried both the choice and prime beef; both options were high quality and well worth it, I’d recommend it!
PS the owner is one bangah from Hawaii
