I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, it was nice to see CS renovated and modernized. I went with a larger group today (5 ppl), and there was space for us. The sandwich was as flavourful as I remember, but I do wish there was more tomato sauce. Some parts were dry, specifically the middle for me, and the sauce is one of the best parts! For being fried, the breading and sauce aren’t too salty nor oily, tasted fresh and seasoned. I recommend the veal, or the eggplant if you’re looking for a vegetarian option.

We had California sandwiches yesterday and ordered the catering. Honestly, for those reviews who say it’s not as good, I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Everything we ordered yesterday was delicious! From the veal, the bread, pasta and all the toppings, everything tasted fresh!
I have been to multiple locations over the years including this one. The food has been great at all locations in my opinion and it’s been consistent. It’s a veal sandwich with cheese and sauce, you can’t screw it up. I love California sandwiches and will always be a loyal customer anytime I’m in the area.

Seen this place a few times.. and knew i had to try it.. well it was worth it. Food and portions were on spec. The only thing that was disappointing was listening to the order taker ask if people want their change. I find it very rude. If people offer it, or say keep it, I understand. But asking people if they want their change. Totally rude.

I do not like the sandwich because it wasn’t taste the same and there was no sauce. I know when I mentioned to the staff they’re just making excuses. I spent over $20 to get a better quality. This will be my last time I come here to try the sandwich it’s not worth it to spend how much money in your garbage quality food.

It has been some time since I visited, but the food was still great.
Another positive was not being guilted into tipping when I ordered to go.
Which was why I had stopped going for a couple of years.
It looked like new staff and the young man was very professional, polite and friendly.
I will be returning for my favorite hot veal with mushrooms.

Haven’t had a California veal in years. We always loved the spicy olives; they were the perfect accompaniment to a sandwich. I don’t know what happened, if it’s just this location or if they changed the recipe but the olives were terrible. The olives were pitted instead of whole cracked olives, there were mixed in whole olives with pitted, barely any jalapeño and onion, and a whole wad of oregano poured in so you couldn’t taste any of the actual olive. Others may not agree but the change in olives is egregious enough to earn this rating.
