This location sits in Town Square a few miles south of the Strip. I took an Uber to get here because I went to stop at the Barnes & Noble in the mall.
Parking is not right next to the restaurant, so you have to park in the main lot and walk a short distance, but it is an easy stroll. The place was packed when I arrived, so I grabbed a seat at the bar, which worked out perfectly.
I ordered my favorite, the original BBQ Chicken Pizza, and paired it with a glass of New Zealand white wine. The server brought out warm bread with olive oil and spices, which was a nice touch. The noise level hit that sweet spot where you can talk without yelling but still feel the energy of the room.
The bathrooms were clean, the service was great as always, and the food was as good as I remembered. Prices here are far more reasonable than anything on the Strip, making it an easy favorite.
As I sat there unwinding from the week, I noticed jets flying overhead, fitting after a convention full of stories about high stakes and constant motion.
The bread was perfectly soft and dough – finally more dough than crust. It was probably the best serving of bread the’ve made thus far! A special shout out to our fantastic server, TRUE, who consistently brought us fresh pieces. She had great energy from the start, kept our waters filled, checked in frequently, and made sure we always had warm bread, all while staying upbeat during the holiday rush. Her enthusiasm never faded and it really made for a great experience. I’ll definitely be requesting her again on my next visit.
Came in for lunch on a Saturday. The place wasn’t dirty, and though it was busy, it had some people eating.
For food, this time we decided to go a different route. We ended up ordering two burgers and a big salad to share.
The salad was pretty good, so good that we finished eating it before we touched our burgers.
The burgers were surprisingly very good. I mean, I ain’t no foodie and though I enjoy a simple burger, I don’t sign up to paying outrageous prices for fancy burgers. With that said, this has to be one of the better burgers I have eaten at least in a very long time. The burger has plenty of meat and bacon which I am not a big fan of. We paid over $18 for the burger, which I found pricey though it was a great burger and had some amazing potato chips/fries. Considering the price, I’d expect more of the fries so that’s one complaint. I don’t know if this food chain will make it, but for now, I think I’d be back for the burger especially if I come across deals.
Now this is where I have to switch into the negative side of things. First off, I used to love CPK when I still lived in California but it’s been a long time since I’ve been to one and I’ve never been to one since living in Las Vegas. I used to really enjoy the small plates they had on the menu so I was disappointed to see that the small plates have been removed from the menu. After going back and forth between options, I landed on the Steakhouse Salad. I got the full size when I definitely should have gotten the half size. When the salad came out it looked very wilted and the lettuce did not taste very fresh the steak bites were extremely overdone and very tough, almost inedible. I forgot to order the salad without cheese and that’s on me so I ate around it the best I good but it didn’t necessarily impede on my satisfaction as much as the wilted salad did.
You’ll have to excuse the TMI for this next portion of the review but I think it needs to be said. Midway through the meal, nature called (in a bad way) so I went to the bathroom. Both stalls were very dirty, like someone missed their number 2 but when nature is not only calling but screaming, you do what you gotta do. When I was finished fighting for my life, I noticed there was no toilet paper in the stall. After weighing my options, I had to end up using toilet seat liners and waddling my way to the other stall which was equally unkempt.
To add insult to injury, I was okay with what we were going to pay considering we had two gift cards (about an $80 altogether) but the gift cards did not work and we ended up paying out of pocket for our, what turned out to be, awful lunch experience. I will not be coming back to this location.
Washed it down with an old school vodka gimlet.
You can get a take and bake pizza for just $9.00. I got an all brisket burnt in pizza . Wow so good hot out of my oven chilling with a cold brewski …heaven on earth!
We had ordered the Buffalo Spicy Chicken for starters, and it was tasty at first, but quickly became way too spicy for two hispanics. So not a fan; great presentation tho.
Our main plate was the California Club pizza, and I loved it. It was a refreshing taste and not too heavy on the stomach like a normal pizza.
Our waiter was very friendly, and from what I saw, so were the rest of the staff.
I would definitely come back to try out their other options.
