At a time when customer service is falling by the wayside, as soon as I stepped foot in the California Pizza Kitchen, I was welcomed and assisted by Marvin who was friendly and personable. He made quick but very polite small talk and then showed me where to go to pick up my order. I had the Salmon Piccata which was much better than I even expected. I also had the starter, which was the White Corn Guacamole and Chips, which was a refreshing and delicious treat. Although my main entree was ready when I arrived, I decided to get a starter dish, and once the waitress went to put that order in, Eva came over and asked if I would like a beverage while I waited which I greatly appreciated! Although it was a 35-minute ride from my area to California Pizza Kitchen, due to the great service and the delicious meal, I would definitely make a trip back here again. Keep up the Great Service and Delicious Dishes!

This location was extremely busy when I visited on a Sunday about 2:30. Its located on the 1st floor of Somerset Mall near Macy’s. Lots of free parking available but if they are busy you may have to drive around a bit.
My guest and I were seated after a short wait. Carlos was our server and despite having several other tables, he was very attentive and took good care of us.
The Mocktail Strawberry Fresca tasted like soap but my Strawberry Lemonade was yummy.
The sauce for the chicken dumpling appetizer was so good, I was they sold in bottles to the public.
My chopped salad was good per usual (it never disappoints) .
My friend told the server it was my birthday and I must say that I was surprised that my desert wasn’t free. The key lime pie was delightful and a decent serving size.
Other than that, I had good experience.

We ordered the Neapolitan Burrata pizza, Chipotle pizza, Dynamite Shrimp, and the Butter Cake for dessert. The burrata pizza was light and fresh, the chipotle pizza had great smoky flavors with beans and corn, and the dynamite shrimp was crispy with a nice tangy kick. The real standout was the Butter Cake — warm, rich, and absolutely a must-try. Overall food was very good, though the service was just okay.

I had a great afternoon at CPK during their happy hours. We tried a few dishes and drinks — the BBQ Chicken Pizza and Dynamite Shrimp were absolutely amazing. Their happy hour deals are really worth it, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, drinks, and overall experience. I would definitely recommend this place.
However, I was a bit disappointed with the front staff, as they seemed careless and inattentive while assigning tables to customers ( My reason for 3 rating service ).

One of my favorite restaurants in the metro Detroit aria, the food is always good, fresh and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and nice let alone the place is always clean. If you haven’t had their food you’re missing out.

I cannot wait to return. There were so many choices on the menu, but I chose the vegetarian pizza with a cauliflower crust. Boy, it was yummy for my tummy. This happened to be during the time of Lent, but I’m ready, to have more since the fast is over. I believe they have the best guacamole, delicious. I enjoyed with the corn chips as a starter. The staff was very attentive and there’s no reason to not return.

We love eating at CPK. The food is great but our server Carlos is amazing. Carlos does not know a stranger and makes you feel like you have been welcomed into his home. As we observe him with other guest, he has the same smile, easy going personality and shows a genuine interest in making sure your dining experience is memorable. Calos makes a huge difference in your dining experience at CKP!

As always, all around great experience! There was a short wait and the host, Marvin, came out to find us and was very friendly and welcoming. Our favorite server, Carlos, took care of us and had my family laughing the whole time– he checked on us periodically to ensure we had everything we needed. Brian was also very knowledgable and helpful us figure out how to use some e-gift cards. Highly recommend the chicken avocado egg rolls!!
