I haven’t been to California Pizza Kitchen since before the pandemic. It’s quite good. The decor is pleasant. The venue is neat and clean. Service was efficient and friendly.
I had a bowl of pea soup and half a chopped salad with peanuts and chicken. They were delicious. The half salad was more generous than full salads at most other restaurants.
I definitely recommend the California Pizza Kitchen in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

With SO MANY other options – why would you settle for THIS?
This is one of the original businesses at Hunt Valley Towne Center (Mall). Amazing that they have lasted this long. Went for lunch with party of 12. Nobody in there except us and the service was still glacially slow. I am talking about 30 minutes for a coffee.
Food was mediocre and best and even slower than the coffee. I believe we may have had a new server because she was quickly changed out.
A bright spot was the the manager was very concerned and addressed the deficiencies head-on but issuing a discount AND a $25 dollar gift certificate to everyone in the party. I gave mine away as I shall never return.
Hopefully your experience is better than this one.

Our Pizza was amazing! CPK does it right! Ingredients were uniformly distributed and fresh. The thin crust pizza was done just right! Francis our waiter was attentive to our needs and made sure everything was just right. Raj was there and always greeting us and making sure everything was great. We have missed seeing him on Monday evenings! He is one of the hardest working managers ever. He gets it and leads by example! Thanks CPK!

CPK isn’t what it used to be. Went there with a group of 8, service was good, but the food quality has fallen way off. I’ll be clear that it wasn’t terrible, just not what we used to expect. If it’s been a while since you have been, calibrate your expectations. I won’t be coming back to any CPK in the future. Way better pizza options out there for a better price.

I had a very disappointing experience at CPK Hunt Valley, Maryland. We clearly told the server that we are vegetarian, and he confirmed our order. But to our shock, our appetizer came with chicken in it. There was no apology given, and the staff didn’t seem to care at all. It was also very hard to get the server’s attention—we had to wait way too long for refills and to place an extra order. Totally unacceptable and careless service. Definitely not coming back.

Two of us arrived at the restaurant a few minutes after 5 pm. There were only a few tables taken. We were never greeted or welcomed. The two young women at the host stand spent several minutes talking to themselves about the lack of clean tables. We were eventually offered a table in the middle of the room. When we requested one of the many open booths it appeared that they didn’t like us requesting something. They did seat us. But we waited about 10 or 15 minutes and no one ever came to the table to greet us or ask for a drink order. Three servers walked past us. One busied himself clearing a table. At this point we gave up and walked out. We walked over to Barrett’s. Here we were greeted and seated immediately even though we had no reservation and many of the tables were busy. Within 2 minutes we were greeted by a server. In less than 10 minutes we had drinks in our hands. If the management wonders why business is off they need to look no further than their staff.

We waited to be sat, we waited so long for some to bring waters or anything that we had to go ask someone to help us. One guy came out and told us he would take our drink order but was not going be our server. We have now been here 20 minutes when another comes up and says he might not be our server but he would take our order. We still don’t have drinks or anything. The appetizer is brought out, but we just staired at since they failed to bring any plates or silverware to the table. So again we got up and asked someone to get the items for us. The dumplings were cold and gross. The pizzas were good. Will not be back. Ever.

Stopped by California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and had such a great experience from start to finish. The vibe was super chill and welcoming, perfect for a break from work or just a casual catch up with friends. The space felt clean, bright, and comfortable, and we were seated right away with no wait, which was a nice bonus.
I decided to try the Dumpling Salad, and I’m really glad I did. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but it ended up being super flavorful and satisfying. The dumplings were crisp on the outside and soft inside, and they paired perfectly with the fresh greens and light dressing. It was the kind of dish that leaves you feeling good, filling but not heavy, and just really well balanced. I’d definitely order it again.
The highlight of our visit, though, was our server, Carter. She was so sweet, attentive, and accommodating. From the second we sat down, she made us feel welcome and relaxed. She had a great energy about her, friendly without being over the top, and she checked in at all the right moments without hovering. It really felt like she wanted us to enjoy our time there, and that kind of service makes such a difference.
Everything came out quickly, the presentation was on point, and we never felt rushed. It was just a really easy, enjoyable lunch. You can tell the staff works hard to make the experience smooth and pleasant for everyone.
Definitely planning to come back again soon. Between the fresh food, great atmosphere, and genuinely kind service, it was exactly the kind of lunch I needed. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
