California Burrito is a good fast food Mexican establishment , if you like their food the best one is on Railroad. Not only is the food better , but they thoroughly cook your food and get your order right .
At the railroad location when I order the carne asada fries , I do not like guacamole so I always order with extra cheese. Instead of charging me for the cheese they actually TELL me they’ll substitute it in replace of the guacamole and don’t charge me extra. Not only that , today I orders from the Antioch location and this is like the third time my food is undercooked. The fries look as if they literally browned them in oil & tossed into the container and threw some meat , cheese and sour cream on top. First bite I was like I was craving this so much , the second bite , wasn’t as desiring , by the time I reached maybe my fifth bite I was done. The Fries were hard and still semi frozen. I did call the restaurant and notify them of this & the lady who answered told me basically I was lying and they cooked them. I had to explain to her I bit into a fry , and it’s not done at all. We came to the agreement that I would come into the restaurant with receipt and food to rectify the order.

Sometimes a hit — sometimes a miss! I say this place can offer a fair deal but like others have noted sometimes the food can be kind of undesirable. I’ve found that a few items are generally “fresher” than others. The best thing about this place is that its open 24/7 so if you want something late at night and don’t want to opt for a burger here’s your late night excuse to contemplate why you are up at 4 A.M.

I came to this place and ordered their chicken and beef crispy tacos. They messed up the order and didn’t give me the correct amount of tacos that I paid for so I returned to this place for them to correct the order and give me the right amount of tacos. I thought they corrected their mistake only to find that the tacos I went back for had pistachio nut shells inside them and I almost cracked my teeth when I took a bite. As you can imagine my disgust with an establishment that would allow that to happen in their kitchen and to serve that to their paying customers I will Never spend my money here again and if you’re reading this review, you shouldn’t either! There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers and quality of food and unfortunately this isn’t one of those restaurants.

Fast and tasty tacos with rice and beans plates. Carne asada and fish tacos are the only ones that are soft tacos all the others are crispy shell.

I had a great time! I love the people, and the atmosphere is amazing. However, the food feels lackluster. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it seems like there wasn’t much care put into it. While it looks good, the taste is bland. I don’t want to say anything negative about the food, but taste really should matter. Although the portions are filling, the flavor is unfortunately subpar. I hope they make some changes soon!

I came here last night for a quick meal and ordered the California super burrito with steak and potatoes, no rice. The burrito was good and flavorful, but there was hardly any steak or potatoes. It was mostly beans and the other fillings. I would have been slightly okay with it but I paid $20 for the burrito and the drink. For that amount, I’d expect more steak and potatoes. The salsa was good but could use more heat. The service was great and brought my review up to 3 stars instead of 2. Maybe ordering in Spanish would yield better results.
