I headed down to Warren to try California Burgerz, which is essentially their version of In-N-Out (and it’s halal). The customer service was decent.

I have been a fan since the original Hamtram location but it’s great to have one much closer. Tried this newer location finally and it lived up to the expectations.
The burgers were fresh and cooked after we ordered. Very friendly staff and other guests.
The food was excellent, great portion size and far better quality compared to standard fast food. In fact I can’t actually think of another place I’ve ever had halal beef served as a American style burger and fries. Also the bacon is beef and my wife’s favorite style cooked crispy.
They definitely got inspired from a well known west coast burger chain, but I think the quality of this place is above and beyond most fast burgers. Also they don’t overdo it on lettuce and other toppings like the well known chain.
Finally the fries are awesome. I have never been able to finish an order of the spiral fries gorilla style despite my best efforts. Delicious and huge portion. The regular fries are also crisp and fresh, on par with expensive restaurants. Give this joint a shot, it’s still fast food and the price is a bit more but awesome amount of quality and care from the staff.

Everything was made fresh, seasoned great and full of flavor! The portions were huge, in my opinion the prices definitely matched the quantity/ quality. Will be going back and next time I have to get extra sides of the special sauce!

I got the double cheeseburger and classic fries combo. They were both perfect : fresh, delicious, attractively presented, followed directions, perfect amount of salt, perfect ratio of toppings to meat. You get the idea. Perfection. And of course, halal.

Wow! Yum! I had the Gorilla (Curvy) Fries (sorry about the pic, I dove right in ) and my son had a specially made double CB burger. Both were awesome! Yes, recommend. Yes, visiting again!

Old school look to the booths, formed plastic/fiberglass like a flashback to the 70s at the Golden Arches. Red & white booths, checkerboard floors with yellow walls around the order/prep area. Brightly colored.
What isn’t like that massive global entity is the food and the service. Here, both are great.
My Mushroom Swiss burger is terrific. Cooked perfectly without being overdone, still juicy and quite tasty. The pretzel bun brings its own to the total and stands up for the job of keeping it all together. Looks good, too.
The skin-on fries are solid, not too salty with the light exterior crunch and soft interior you want.
All served on paper in what is a 9″ metal pie pan. I appreciate the environmental concern.
But the standout for me here was the service. As I was the only one in line after I ordered, I asked the gentleman behind the counter a quick question about foods that might or might not be halal. In the few minutes we spoke before the next customer arrived, I learned a lot! And not in any kind of preach-y way, just a conversation I started that passed a lot of information to me from someone who is much more well-informed in the subject. Thank you!
There is one table on the side and two at the front with movable chairs to accommodate wheelchairs and the rest of the booths look high & wide enough that they might fit in on the ends of the rest.
I’ll definitely come back here.

After golf this week, we were looking for a good burger for lunch. We definitely found one! @caliburgerz was delicious!! Super fresh and tasty. We filmed a review, and gave it a super high score!! We went to the Warren location right down the street from golf and were glad we did!! Lots of parking available and they took cash or card!

Excellent Halal burger spot! Everything is made to order, so don’t expect this to be a fast food place. Burgers are well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Fries are great too. The curvy fries are fun like cross between steak & curly fries. Gorilla style includes cheese sauce, special sauce, & grilled onions – highly recommended. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, too.

I thought the burger was excellent. It was well executed and easy to eat. It tasted great. The fries were okay. Sadly, the chicken tenders were a waste of money. You can get better frozen tenders from Meijer or Kroger.
The store was really, really messy. There was trash everywhere. It was off-putting to be in such a messy environment. I understand that they were short-staffed and busy, but I haven’t seen a restaurant in such poor condition in a long, long time. It made me wonder how clean their kitchen is.
I probably wouldn’t return due to how messy the store was and how disorganized the employees were. The burger was awesome, though.

Food was pretty good overall. Beef itself wasn’t very flavorful or juicy but the burger and and animal fries were still very good. Super weird vibe in there, funky kitchen odor. Needs to be tidied up, reorganized, and more professionally put together.
