The food at Caliente Mexican Grill? Spicy, flavorful, and worth every tortilla chip. The service? Well… let’s just say I had time to learn conversational Spanish while waiting for my tacos..
But hey, once the food landed, it was a fiesta in my mouth. The only thing missing was a mariachi band serenading me while I waited. Would’ve made the delay feel more festive.
Would I come back? Absolutely. But next time, I’m bringing a snack… you know, just in case.

we are mostly vegetarian and eat fish occasionally. This restaurant has the best options we’ve ever seen at a Mexican restaurant for vegetarians! There was outdoor seating so we can bring our baby Yorky… And the service was prompt and we had a very good server!

Crazy Mexican decor. On Saturday nights it is packed. Two times we have attended. The meat in three dishes one night and two dishes another night had skimpy meat allowance. Generous servings, especially for the delicious salsa and chips. Just the right spices-mild to hot- depending what you like. The chimichanga was not fried enough– too soft. Skimpy amount of steak in portion to all of the vegetables. CLEARLY communicate exactly what your desires are. Extra cheese sauce brings an extra charge. Read your bill before paying.

A very vibrant looking restaurant in the Carmel area. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Salsa tastes fresh and spicy. We ordered Pollo Chorizo, Caliente style enchiladas for entrees. Pollo Chorizo came with a generous amount of cheese for my liking. Enchiladas are really well made served along with salad, rice and freshly made guacamole. The quantity is huge for 2 people. They offer a very wide seating area too.
