I ordered the oxtail meal, with mac and cheese, candied yams, potato salad, greens and cornbread. I have to admit that everything that was available minus the yams were absolutely delicious. 10/10.
I ordered online at 4:09pm and the note said to call and confirm that the order went through. I was really impressed by that. My order said it would be ready by 4:40pm. I called and she confirmed that she received the order, however, she had to make more yams. I agreed to wait until 5:10pm, although one hour is an extremely long time to wait, especially in the food industry.
When I called around 5:15 to pick up the order, she mentioned the yams was still not ready. I told her it’s okay I’ll pick up everything instead. When I got there, she also shared the rice that goes with the oxtail was also not ready. After an hour, that was a bit much for me and I wish I was informed on the phone.
The main thing that took my rating from 2/5 to 4/5 is that she did offer a refund and had good customer service when I arrived. My tip would be to add to the note for online ordering to call and ensure the items are available and call for wait time before ordering. Most things were definitely ready, but it could have been a smoother transactions.
However, the food was great and I will be back!

I thought I could let it go but the food is so bad I have to let the people know.
I went there a few weeks ago. I ordered my food a day prior for 2 pm the next day. She also charged me extra for the oxtail. Something about it not reflecting tomorrow’s prices. She delayed me 3 times and when I finally got there cali made me wait another 30 minutes for food. This establishment has no respect for the customers time. The food was for 2pm and she had me wait until 7:30pm.
After all the time wasted and her bragging about how her oxtail has been praised by some Jamaican for being authentic. That was indeed a lie. The oxtail was terrible, it was a tiny portion and had no flavor whatsoever. The fried chicken smelled expired. And omg the mac and cheese was a watery mess. Everything I ordered lacked soul.
Her son even had the gall to say that the food took along time due to quality. Like what quality???
I ordered the oxtail plate and fried chicken with potatoe salad and macn an cheese for both sides along with 4 cornbread and a peach cobbler.
The only redeeming factor was the peach cobbler. Everything else is trash.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOULLESS ESTABLISHMENT.

You don’t need to go all the way to Murrieta for tendernism. We have one right here in Lancaster.
The oxtail here is fall-off-the-bone, soft, saucy, with just the right amount of bite to it.
The mac and cheese was creamy and velvety. Greens were so good and absolutely saturated in rich broth.
I tried banana pudding for the first time today, too. The delicate warmth from the cinnamon was a tasty surprise, and the sweetness was just right.

I got meatloaf and double Mac n cheese and my meatloaf did not come with rice she could’ve at least added something else to my meal or a dessert because that is unprofessional who eats meatloaf with no rice and the elbow noodles was so soft/mushy and not a lot of seasoning and the macaroni needed more cheese as well we did. Not like it at all. My boyfriend ordered oxtails but she ran out which was fine he got chicken and Mac n cheese and cabbage again the only thing he liked was the chicken we also order banana pudding in that to I guess was sold out and it was not by scratch which is fine but I never received it I paid $62 I was very disappointed because in the av we barely have good soul food out here.

this is the third time I’ve ordered from this location and every time it’s the same story I try to give her the benefit of the doubt but it’s literally the same story. I ordered my food at 4 PM. I came to the inside the store to pick up my order at 5:15 and it still wasn’t ready. I waited until 730 inside the restaurant for my order and it still wasn’t ready till I finally said something for her to tell me what I ordered is still not ready why would you have me sit here for almost 2 1/2 hours knowing the food is not going to come out anytime soon and it’s sad because her food is actually good. I got here at 11:55pm on 8/28/25 and ordered the fried chicken w/2 sides-mac and cheese, and greens-and I added a cornbread and a lemonade- the cost was $32.26. I want to add that I am 64 and confined to a walker and this review is rather long because she was pussyfooting around. So, I gave her 2 twenties then she had to go across the street to the neighborhood liquor store to get change, came back telling me it will be ready in a few so I said that’s fine I’ll go to my last store and come back to pick my food up, 45 mins. later, the door was locked with no sign up of her being missing, 2 people separate people walking by while I was trying to get in said that is her car right there on the street but she left so that already sounds like she wanted my $32 and about 15 mins she pops out of the back, I saw her through the window and she opens the door and tells me that she didn’t expect me back so soon, she hadn’t done nothing. So soon? So then she starts talking about it’s almost ready but I have to fry your chicken and had the nerve to say she had to go back across the street to get some damn cooking oil out of all of this, so she goes and comes back without oil talking about the little one was $5 so then she looks for her keys to go all the way to another store to get some damn cooking oil on my time and in my condition, so now this sounds like on purpose and this really happened. Then she comes to my car saying it’s almost ready and tells me, cause she had locked up again, that she will bring it out so I don’t have to get out again and lol and behold at 2:05pm (real time), got my walker out once again and went in and still STILL was not ready, few minutes later she starts putting the Mac and greens in the little plate, then she goes in the back again attempting to get the 3 pieces of chicken, WOW, comes back still trying to fix this plate then she goes through her receipts to see if I ordered cornbread dah! goes in the back AGAIN! and ripped me off for the cornbread and the lemonade in which I never ever got so she purposely tried to rip me off she took $8.00 for nothing because those 2 things could be prepared first, they were the easiest cause this is TWO AND A HALF HOURS I grabbed that half order and got the hell out of there, clearly the devil now this is the worst place I have ever been, I got 3 items and the chicken was real dark and not done at all inside she had her fire up too high, that’s why she gave it to me like that cause any longer would have been burned. Have no business in business this was bullshit and some people just need to stay at home and stop trying if they’re not going to do right and YOU can keep the $8 that you purposely stole from me cause evidently you needed real bad and your food is not good enough to wait for 2 and a half hours. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!

This diamond here is some place that you need to get there not now but right now I ordered the oxtails & rice greens black eyed peas and cornbread and an extra side of red beans and rice and lime aid kool aid and I was so pleased. Her portions are big enough for me and my bf or for me a couple of times to eat. Now let me tell you about that lime Aid it was so refreshing she has something that she calls Callie Kool-Aid she was out of that and they say that’s really good but the limeade it hit like none other. Go give it a try you won’t be disappointed!!!

Delicious food. My entire family loved it. Worth the wait. But word to the wise. Do not be in a rush to get your food. It is made to order. Call in ahead of time to place an order and make sure to check with them that it is ready to be picked up.
