Coming from Vancouver I didn’t have high expectations. Pho was decent. Also ordered the lemon grass chicken on rice, resembled more of a stir fry. Spring rolls were good though. Ambience was definitely old and no music at all, very silent. Service was slow but it looks like a husband and wife team so that’s probably why. It seemed like a lot of locals liked this spot as the owner knew their orders and names so that’s a nice touch. Overall, food was nothing to rave about but solid.

The food is pretty basic but nothing to complain about. I shared the stewed beef noodle soup and the combo plate on rice with a friend. The broth was good but not as rich and flavourful as other places. The beef was tender and the portion was decent. The chicken, beef, meat patty in combo plate weren’t as flavourful as other Vietnamese restaurants. The portions were the right size… not too big and not too small, and reasonably priced. Came on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet. The decor is tired but the place is clean. Looked like it was serviced only by a mom and a pop.

We have been to the Calgary Trail Noodle House several times before. This gives you an indication that we like the place. We find the manager and staff friendly and the food very good. It is nothing fancy but good.

My wife and I shared an appetizer which was the deep fried pork dumplings and they were nice but I prefer pan fried.

I had the scallops with cashew nuts and noodles. I had it before and it was very nice. I guess I like it even more since I keep getting the same dish.

My wife had the House Combo Grilled Pork, Spring Rolls, Pork Ball, Shrimp & Beef. This is her usual too and again very good.

We were too full for dessert.

Yes we will return.

Good size restaurant for a family dinner or to watch a hockey game. However I had the vermicelli bowl with chicken. I was very disappointed to taste the char on the chicken was just the grill being unclean. Especially when it’s a main part of the dish.

Always love coming here after my dads appointments in the city. Fast service, great food, great prices. thanks for always being so kind! The vermicelli is one of the best I’ve had at this restaurant! The durian smoothie is a great way to try something different, and their pork plate with fried egg is packed with flavor and you get a lot for what you pay for!

We’ve all done this, drive past a place for YEARS and keep saying….I’ll go there one day…
Well after 13 years for me, 18 years for my friend we finally visited this place!
Tip, pull onto the side road right after the Shell gas station. They have angle parking in one direction only. If you drive past the restaurant you’ll have to drive behind the restaurant and double back to and park.
Place is open concept and there were about four other tables that were occupied.
We both ordered their iced coffee with condensed milk. I decided on their Satay Beef Noodle Soup, my gf had the #24, House Vermicelli Bowl. We were also served fresh hot tea.
I love watching it drip and then when you mix and pour over the ice, soo satisfying. The lil spoon that came with the drink was also quite cute.
Her bowl was very full and she loved the flavor. When I got my soup, my first instinct is to always taste the broth, however I tasted no peanut or nutty flavor. Had her try it too and she said it had some but I could not taste any nuttiness. The broth was clear, unlike other places where the broth is more creamy. **For those who might be wondering, I’ve never had Covid so my taste buds are all good.**
We finished our meals and got our fortune cookies.
Happy to have tried the place and next time I’ll try something else on the menu.

Food: the ingredients that go into the food seem high quality. They give lots of fresh Thai basil, but the amount of beansprouts was little.

The broth is average, mildly hot, and lacks depth.

The noodle soups seem to be more expensive than average.

Service: the service was normal, nothing out of the ordinary.

Atmosphere: the restaurant appears to be a family run business. A baby crawling on dining tables, kids playing on laptops in the corner. A little unsuitable for a restaurant, but it is what it is.

It doesn’t look like much when you come in, but this place is one of the Gems of Edmonton. Been coming here for years, with my family.

The quality, price, portion is always too notch. Never any surprises. And the owners make you feel really at home.

My family has different allergy sensitivities & this restaurant has always been able to feed us or modify a meal to accommodate.

Fantastic place, If you love Vietnamese food.

Absolutely awesome food and service. I assume this place is locally/family-owned; loved the authentic taste and cozy atmosphere. Good prices, 100% will be returning and recommending.
