Decided to dine at Caleta on our last night in Panama City. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. The atmosphere isn’t quite what you’d expect, it’s kind of dark and sectioned off like a steakhouse. Service was pretty close to on par with a Michelin starred restaurant.

The drinks were fantastic and some of the best we had in Casco Viejo. The food was generally good, we thought the Lobster Gnocchi dish was disappointing. The pumpkin raviolo dish was misrepresented. We received Piramidali, not raviolo. The vegetable & green curry dish was very good and we enjoyed the mushroom tamale as well.

inside the Sofitel casco viejo hotel, the decor is simple but elegant, the service was amazing, paying attention to all details. The cocktails are unique, and good selection of wines. You start with complimentary bread service, everything on the menu looks amazing, everything we had was amazing. The lobster au sauce was phenomenal. And the beef tartare one of the best tartares I’ve had, everything with unique flavours. Next we had the fish collar, WOW what a dish, it was beyond amazing. I highly recommend trying this place out. It’s 100% worth going.

We came to Caleta for dinner on our last evening in Panama, and it did not disappoint! The service was impeccable, and the meal was equally amazing.

We started with drinks — a mocktail mule and the Rose cocktail — and the Rose was honestly one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Our server Juan was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive throughout the evening.

The menu is organized by categories like seafood, meats, and vegetables rather than traditional courses like apps and entrees, which was unique and fun. They began by bringing us a beautiful artisan bread and two tuna tartare bites, both full of flavor. We then shared the fried carrot ceviche and the duck tortelli — I could have eaten five more of those tortellis, they were that good!

For our entrée, we split the catch of the day (seabass, shareable for two), which was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Each dish was beautifully presented, making the whole dining experience feel elevated and thoughtful. We finished with the coco dessert, which came with a theatrical touch of liquid nitrogen, such a fun presentation and delicious too.

Everything about this meal was outstanding! the food, the creativity, the presentation, and the service. Highly recommend and would absolutely go back!

Wow! Service was impeccable and the food presentation was outstanding. Not to mention the food tastes great and the ambiance was lovely. The Sofitel is a beautiful hotel and casca viejo neighborhood is fun. Anyways favorite item was the tomato bruschetta and the Cacoa dessert. Wine was good too. Not a bad item. Reservation needed. Ask for Mizael! Great server!

I am so appreciative of a restaurant that not only invests in its cuisine, but the service surrounding the meal. Upon arrival they provide a brief history of their key ingredients, making it exciting to find them highlighted along the menu.

We were met with an amuse-bouche starring a hearty mushroom stew. This brief although memorable bite introduced us to depth of flavor available when choosing our follow up dishes.

We began with the crab, served cold. Its presentation was ethereal although the texture was too soft. That is not to negate the heavy hitter follow up which was the octopus tamale! WOW, I can honestly say I’ve never had anything like it.

Our waiter was kind, inquisitive, and experienced in the menu. He suggested the CoCoa dessert which is an inexplicable experience.

Do yourselves a favor and visit this lovely spot.

Creative unique dishes that are very enjoyable! I’ve only been for lunch, but was pleased both times. I’m a vegetarian with a host of allergies and they were able to accommodate me. Will be returning! Included a picture of the most delicious feta salad!

Remarkable, absolutely stunning in every way. Going to a place like this I wonder at times if it’s too much or “over the top”. There was not a hint of pretentious behaviours with the staff. It’s welcoming, and simply spot on service. The food was incredible as n every way… Eduardo really is one of the best servers I have ever experienced. Well done !

The staff at Caleta are top-notch. The food was very good but there were some issues. The burrata was too firm and not very creamy within. The seafood gaucho and fish baked in clay were only lukewarm when served. Desserts were excellent. All dishes were beautifully presented and in most cases showcased local ingredients. The wine list has something for every price point.
