Recently heard about this place from a friend. My wife and I decided to try it for date night. Wow, were we Impressed. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We went at 5:30. By 6:00 people were waiting for a table. I ordered the ribeye and my wife had the filet. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The potato was fresh, cooked thoroughly and topped perfectly. The salad was larger than expected, crisp, green, and fresh.
Now to talk about the steaks you have to understand they we often travel up to an hour to go get a good steak at a nice restaurant. The steaks we ate at Calamity James beat every other steak I have ever eaten. The wood fired grill gave them a flavor that you cannot replicate on any other grill. They were absolutely amazing. I rate them at a ten out of ten. The business is going through an exterior remodel and upgrade so what you see on the outside does not represent the inside.

Great food, with a great variety on the menu. The brisket is the best brisket you can buy out. The best brisket you can get is at my house, but this is second best brisket. The service is iffy. They are super nice & helpful, but there is a missing link there. #bbq

Beautiful and clean inside and out! This was our first time at Calamity Jane’s smokehouse BBQ and it did impress! Walking in we told them it was our first time and he explained the menu perfectly! We had the smoked Bologna, sliced brisket, chicken and pulled pork! EVERYTHING TASTED AMAZING!!! We got baked beans and potatoe salad for our sides and they were yummy! We brought our 2 year old and she was able to dance and eat. She loved the music and the atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend!

I really don’t like the star rating system, tbh. This place could be 5 or 4 stars depending on what you’re looking for. The food was great. The service was great. At least tonight when we went it was very busy and loud. Not really a family friendly environment, but if you’re looking for a bar and barbeque type of place, it’s perfect. There were at least 5 flat screens: one playing golf, one playing basketball, one playing a western, etc. Tables are very close together. The waitress had to move an empty seat at our table to get through to pick up glasses from the group next to us who were doing shots.

Expanding after only a year and a half in business!!! Three flavors of homemade BBQ sauce- Baby Bear (mild, sweet, and tangy), Mama Bear (middle of the road) and Papa Bear (spiked with a ghost pepper. Delicious!! A smorgasbord of delicious eats, varieties of flavor, and small town mom-n-pop individualized service. One chef. Tried and true family recipes. Filling. Nice atmosphere. Great place to celebrate with friends and family.

This is the best BBQ I have ever had hands down! I’m willing to make a 45 minute drive just to eat this remarkable food. Words can’t really communicate how incredible this food is! You have to try it to understand. Also, the building is magnificent you feel like you’re in a saloon. Honestly a phenomenal experience!

We had the BBQ spud chopped brisket, Chopped brisket sandwich with potatoes salad, and a bologna sandwich. With sweet teas. All food was good and their own home-made BBQ is very delicious. I will definitely recommend y’all try it out… Very good and price isn’t bad either 🙂

The staff was friendly. It’s seat yourself. You go through a line and tell them what you want. They cut the brisket right in front of you and the sides that must be fried they give you a number for so you can come back up to the counter to get it when they are done. You pay when you order instead of after your meal. It was very busy. The food was great. It was a bit out of my element. Seeing as covid is still going on I wasn’t for sure what their policy on drink refills was and since it’s mostly a serve yourself place and it was busy I didn’t ask. There were three of us. Expect to pay maybe around 15 or more dollars per person when you go.
