UPDATE 10/28/ 2025**** I visited Calabash a few days ago and the oxtails( plentiful) , plantains, cabbage and rice& beans were delicious. Overall everything was just as good as before with the exception of the “cheesecake” which was horrible. And since this wasn’t my first time trying it, I’m gonna have to change the 5 stars to 3 stars. It was hard ( you had to chisel a piece off ) and it was bland and stale. I.M.O….the store bought cheesecake, even Walmart is better. And to my surprise , the entrees have increased
( $3-4.00 more).
I know you get what you pay for, but that’s a little too steep for my pockets when the dessert (cheesecake) isn’t up to par.

MY MY, MY. This place left me speechless, or should I say the oxtails did. The seasoning was perfect for everything ( rice & beans, vegs, and cabbage).and I’m sure the rum cake is going to blow me away…
Ms. Pam, please let the crew know we’ll be back and we’re looking forward to tasting the “plantains.””
****UPDATE**** 9;00PM The Rum cake was dripping with rum . Very moist and flavorful. Be bold and give it a try.

I come here a lot. Usually the St Andrews Location. Usually there good 10/10 but tonight wasn’t it. Not sure who in the kitchen. They need that older lady with the glasses around. This night I didn’t see her and the chicken was bad. It was more like beef jerky on a bone. Everything else was good. This just a reminder to never get comfortable. Peace and blessings

I received a Door Dash order in January 2026 when I was still a patient at Prisma Heart Hospital. I always judge a Caribbean Restaurant by how they prepare Jerk Chicken.

It’s the 2nd worse Jerk chicken plate I’ve eaten in my 50yrs of life. Not only was parts of the chicken burnt to the point of being inedible, it wasn’t fresh. Tasting like leftovers that was prepared a few days prior.

Never again! This restaurant does not deserve its 4 star (3.8)rating based on my experience.

I ordered deliver thru Door Dash tonight. The packaging is very messy. The sauce overflows the slots. The Oxtails have a good taste (which is the only reason there’s a 2nd star) and the sauce helped, but the white rice was very dry and not at all enjoyable. The steaed vegetables were mushy. Plus, +$4.00 for a side of mac & cheese that was dry, old, and too salty. Would not buy from here again

Let me start by saying I have never had an issue with Calabash. However, I purchased 2 Curry Goat Dinners and paid almost 60.00 to get home to a plate full of rice. Potatoes and two small pieces of goat meat. The lady preparing the food was the same one who checked us out. She took a long time so obviously she was scooping out the potatoes and not the meat and then put a bunch of gravy on the plate. For 28.00 gor one plate and to get served that was ridiculous

Paid $80 for mediocre food, small portions and a nasty attitude having server. I fully understand that prices of food, especially oxtail and goat aren’t cheap, neither is the rent, lights, and not to forget paying staff, especially in this economy, but really…not on my dime. Thanks but no thanks. Bring back the GOOD JAMAICAN RESTAURANTS IN COLUMBIA!!!

Ordered my food at 4:17pm didn’t get it until 5:05pm. Owners didn’t even want to give a complimentary drink for the long (hot)wait. They were out of goat so I settled for oxtail. My mother wanted saltfish and ackee or calilou (idk what it’s called) and only received a sprinkle of saltfish. After spending $62 on 3 meals, waiting in a hot restaurant with flies everywhere for over 40min all we got was a “sorry for the inconvenience” and a sprinkle of saltfish.
**I was also charged a fee for hospitality and transportation. On top of 10% tax

I was scared to try because of the other reviews but I decided to take a chance. I am very glad I did!! I ordered through Uber eats. The food was hot and fresh and very flavorful. The portions were definitely worth it as well. I purchased curry chicken, rice and peas, steamed veggies and mac and cheese. Will definitely be ordering from them again!
