Wow! The vibe in here was really amped for a coffee shop! It was actually really refreshing to see. This is my second time trying their Java and did NOT disappoint ☕️ ❣️ Their syrup selection is different from my other “go to bc it’s consistent” coffee shop which is why I tried it a second time. I had a maple spiced cinnamon latte with slightly less milk. my next and third drink will be their honey cinnamon ☕️ Go try their coffee!!!!

The fact that Cala is regularly full and crowded should tell you something: there’s a reason for the popularity! I would often come here to work and write, and many of the baristas knew my name and order (and I imagine that’s a feat given how many people they serve each day). Grateful for this space & the amazing staff!

Very nice local coffee shop that roasts their own beans. I’ve been to the one downtown and decided to check the ‘main branch’. This location has a nice homey vibe, has an ample amount of parking but there’s street parking and some other spots that are still a manageable walking distance away. The interior is bright, airy, modern & welcoming. When I visited, the beans they were using for the espresso was their Work In Progress blend, it tasted great so I ended up getting a bag. It was easy to dial in and also tasted great when V60’d. I ended up getting some other beans (Guatemala, Colombia, Brazil & El Salvador) and they were also easy to work with and tasted great. Only thing was I don’t remember them having a roast date so I had to ask the barista about that.

Quaint place to have a cup of coffee. I had the captains almond shot cold foam and it was pretty good. It was busy so that’s a good sign. Just a bit hot in there while we were sitting and having our coffee

This has become my favorite coffee shop in Birmingham.

First of all, the drip coffee is incredible. I have started to make it at home. It’s among the best that is locally roasted.

Second, the pastries are fantastic. I can’t recommend the almond croissant enough. It’s so, so good.

And finally, the place itself is great. Lots of seating, inside and out. Tables, bars, communal tables. (Would love more power outlets at the large tables) And the staff is so friendly.

I can’t wait to hit this up as often as I can.

For me it was an average coffee. It was a little light on flavor. Plus I had to add sugar. They didn’t have a true caramel flavor; it was like a caramel vanilla. The maple danish was very good.

Fab coffee, friendly staff and good pastries! Love they offer kombucha and some alcoholic options. Seating can be tricky at peak times, otherwise all is good

I stumbled upon Cala Coffee at 3950 Autumn Ln, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243, and I’m so glad I did—what a hidden gem in Cahaba Heights! From the moment I walked through the door, I was amazed by how open and inviting the seating area was. The modern, airy interior with the “Create Good Days” motto on the wall immediately set a positive vibe.
The coffee was fantastic—I had a latte with beautiful latte art that tasted as good as it looked. You can tell they take pride in their craft. The counter setup was clean and organized, with a great selection of drinks on the menu. I also loved the little details, like the outdoor awning and the greenery around the building, which gave it a cozy, welcoming feel.
If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy a quality cup of coffee in a bright, friendly atmosphere, Cala Coffee is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back! Givon Wayne

cala coffee was a lovely experience on our trip to birmingham. they had a warm calm atmosphere, perfect for working or hanging out. their branding is absolutely adorable! their menu was crafted incredibly well, a wide range of classic and seasonal flavors made from house made syrups. I got the frostbite latte and it was so yummy! austin was very personable and so was the other barista working. 10/10 would recommend visiting this coffee shop wether you’re local or just traveling through.
